Sony Nasne Incoming for PS3, PS Vita & Other Supported Devices

131w ago - Today Sony of Japan has [Register or Login to view links] that their networked recorder and media storage device dubbed [Register or Login to view links] (pictures HERE) will be arriving on July 19th for use with the PS3, PS Vita, and other supported devices.

To quote from Examiner.com (linked above): The "nasne" device comes with a 500 GB hard drive in addition to dedicated tuners for "digital terrestrial and satellite broadcast."

It can connect with several Sony devices (PlayStation 3, PS Vita, VIAO PC, Sony Tablet and Xperia Play) using dedicated apps so that users can watch and record video. You can check out how "nasne" will work with each aforementioned device from the details provided by the press release below:

Video: Star Trek Teleports to PlayStation 3 with Co-op and 3D

131w ago - Sony Correspondent Andy Burt has announced today alongside a video trailer that Star Trek is teleporting to PlayStation 3 complete with both co-op and 3D for fans!

To quote: Thanks to the storytelling wizardry and storytelling chops of J.J. Abrams and [Register or Login to view links], one of the most beloved sci-fi series in history teeters on the brink of a renaissance among fans and newcomers alike.

With Star Trek for PS3, developer [Register or Login to view links] is crafting a standalone story that takes place between the 2009 film and the upcoming sequel. The hope: to boldly go where no licensed game has gone before.

Star Trek is a cooperative third-person shooter, but that description doesn't do the game much justice. The two controllable characters, Captain Kirk and Spock, both experience the story differently, with branching paths and narratives that will give the game a substantial amount of replay value.





Each character is also equipped with their own individual weapons and skills, each complementing the other in a variety of ways. For instance, Spock's Vulcan mind meld ability allows him to turn foes into allies, forcing oncoming threats...

131w ago - Senior Producer Zach Wood has announced today that Axel will be available to all tomorrow alongside the Starhawk Sweet Tooth Skin as part of the incoming Twisted Metal PS3 update.

To quote: We're pleased to confirm that Axel will be available to all Twisted Metal players with the upcoming free patch on April 18th.

If you missed him through early pre-order access, this will be your chance to deal some serious destruction in new ways. Bothered by some unrelenting enemies? Blow them away with Axel's signature Crowd Control attack, or run them right over with his ruthless War Wheel alternate special attack.

Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake Up Club Hit PS Vita for Free

131w ago - Sony Product Manager Mayumi Donovan has announced today that Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake Up Club are coming to PS Vita for free!

To quote: PlayStation Vita owners can look forward to a trio of free applications to help you make the most of the handheld console's unique features, the first of which will be available to download this week, on April 18.

Turning the PS Vita's impressive 5" OLED screen into a sketch pad, Paint Park is fun for beginners and expert artists alike.

Using PS Vita's touchscreen to make and share drawings; you can doodle, sketch and scribble quickly and easily with the virtual markers and on-screen colour palette.

The PS Vita's front and rear cameras can play a part too, as you can take pictures and add your own creative imaginings to them.

Simple and fun Paint Park can also be a socially rewarding as users can share their work and even compete with up to five friends in the online multiplayer via the Ad Hoc mode.

This summer we'll be releasing Treasure Park, an application that allows you to create your own puzzles to challenge your friends with. It's a great way to connect with friends and other PS Vita users, as you can use the near application and 3G to find puzzles to play and share your own, wherever you are.

131w ago - Sony PlayStation Correspondent Andy Burt has shared some hands-on impressions alongside a new video trailer today of Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch for the PS3 video gaming system below.

To quote: It's been quite a while since Namco Bandai Games first announced PS3-exclusive Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch.

A collaborative effort between veteran RPG maker Level-5 and veteran animation house [Register or Login to view links], Ni No Kuni promises to seamlessly blend Ghibli's gorgeous art style with Level-5′s RPG chops for a completely unique experience not seen on PS3 until now.

I went hands-on with the game at Namco Bandai's recent media event in Las Vegas, exploring the lush world of Ni No Kuni, battling a plethora of creatures, and traversing through a pig-obsessed city appropriately titled Hamelin.
