300w ago - Courtesy of Ro Hernandez (PLAYSTATION Store Team) today:

As promised, we're delivering many (most, really) of the videos seen at today's PlayStation E3 press conference to the PLAYSTATION Store for your enjoyment.

As announced at the event, the video download service will hit the store tonight, and will *not* require a firmware upgrade. Recent PSP Firmware v4.05 also enabled compatibility with the video service, for taking TV shows and movies on the go.

As far as video of the entire press conference is concerned, we're working on converting that video now, and will post it on the Store when it's complete, so you can see everything we showcased today.

We hope you enjoy this fresh E3 update, and we'll have more for you as the week progresses.

Consumers will be able to purchase content in both standard and High-definition quality. Pricing will run from $9.99 to $14.99 for purchases, while video rentals will cost $2.99 to $3.99.

Sony also revealed today that Gran Turismo TV will launch on August 1st and that Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty will hit the PSN this summer for $14.99.

Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA, said today that your patience in waiting for PlayStation Home will be more than rewarded. Tretton added that they have made incredible progress and have got some great publisher support on game-specific spaces.

Finally, Tretton revealed that this year they will introduce a single PlayStation Network sign-on for PS3, PSP and PC. He also revealed that over 20 million units of DLC have been download and 180 million units have been download since the PS3's launch.

Currently in a limited closed BETA, Home is planned to launch officially in BETA form to the public later this year. Barring any last minute delays, of course.

PlayStation Network Portable ID's Now Available

50°
300w ago - An official way to display your PSN ID on various Web sites... Obviously, you will need to have a PSN account. You will also need to sign up for a PlayStation Underground account as well if you do not already have one.

Linking to the two of them together will allow you access to the PLAYSTATION Network Portable ID. The PSN portable ID "is a visual summary of your PLAYSTATION®Network account, including your Avatar, "About Me" message and Online ID."

There is even an HTML code provided for you to display this information wherever you please.

You can also now access your Friend List via the PSU -- in addition to the information on their portable ID, you will see their online status. If online, you can view their comment/status and what game they are currently playing. If they are offline, you can see when they were last online. At this time, you cannot manage your Friend List via the PSU.

So what are you waiting for? Link your accounts up HERE.

Then go to your "MY ACCOUNT" page, and on the middle left side you will see, "PLAYSTATION®Network Friend List", and like in my image below, I can see that Hazer is online & what game he is playing from via my PC. This is a nice feature to see who's on their...
