BreakQuest: Extra Evolution Exclusively on PlayStation Minis Today

50°
114w ago - Beatshapers Founder and CEO Alexey Menshikov has announced that beginning today BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is exclusively breaking and questing on PlayStation Minis for fans.

To quote: It's Alexey Menshikov from Beatshapers and I'm pleased to reveal our next game - BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is coming to North American PlayStation Stores today as a PlayStation Minis exclusive (PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable), priced at $3.99.

This game has a long story: the original game was released back in 2004 on PC by Spain-based Felix Casablancas and Nurium Games, and was the best breakout-style game at its time featuring something very unique for the genre - fully interactive physics.

We were one of the biggest fans of the game and when Sony approached with introduction of PlayStation Minis; we decided to bring this game to minis in 2010, which was quite successful.

A year after the PSP minis release, we thought about its sequel with the twist - at that time we had a feedback from the PSP version players, so we decided to improve the gameplay and design: we took best game and design elements of original game and rebuild it from scratch, incorporating our vision and our inspiration from the original BreakQuest.

As a result, we have created...

114w ago - Frima Studio Executive Producer Martin Brouard has confirmed alongside a video trailer that Lights, Camera, Party PlayStation Move DLC is out today!

To quote: Lights, Camera, Party! fans: Today we are launching new DLC called The Good, the Bad and the Monkey! The DLC pack contains 10 new minigames as well as a new game mode called The Duel.

Six additional trophies and 40 additional in-game awards are also part of the package. You do not want to miss this opportunity to PARTY ON!

Duel mode lets you play six rounds of mini games head to head against another player in order to defeat your opponent and win a classic high noon showdown. Of course all 60 LCP minigames can show up in the Duel.

The team has decided to give an interesting twist to this DLC by focusing on exploiting the most challenging and entertaining gestures with the PlayStation Move.

The themes of the new minigames are as silly as ever, and include:

• Eating corn on a cob (as a monkey!)
• Shaking the hell out of a banana-shooting coconut tree
• Stopping a rampaging Funzaur using a laser-beaming satellite
• Keeping Ape TV's studio afloat by fixing its monkey-busted monitors
• Assembling...

Video: Dokuro: A Bone-a-fide Hero Emerges Today on PS Vita

114w ago - GungHo Online Entertainment America Community Associate Antonio Cara has shared a video spotlighting Dokuro: A Bone-a-fide Hero which emerges on PS Vita today.

To quote: In my last post, I talked a bit about the origins of my favorite numbskull, Dokuro, and the story surrounding his heroic exploits. My ever-diminishing pool of skeleton-themed puns notwithstanding, I'd like to go a bit deeper into the gameplay elements of Dokuro as well as the concepts that spurred development choices.

Although Dokuro was inspired by children's books - [Register or Login to view links] and a Japanese children's book called Kuma to Yamaneko - don't let the adorable chalk-laden game fool you into thinking the Dark Lord's castle is child's play.

At first, Dokuro may look like a pretty straightforward 2D side-scrolling puzzler: You've got a clear goal of escorting the princess from point A to point B, and a seemingly narrow list of what you can and cannot do to accomplish it.

You push a few boxes around, toggle a switch or two, and bash a few bozos who try to hurt your precious princess. The game wouldn't be a fraction as interesting as it is, however, if it simply stopped there.

As you progress through the treacherous castle, you...

Ghost Recon Future Soldier: Khyber Strike DLC is Available Today

50°
115w ago - Ubisoft ComDev Antoine Emond has announced that Ghost Recon Future Soldier: Khyber Strike PS3 DLC is available beginning today.

To quote: I'm happy to announce that Khyber Strike is out today. This third downloadable content package for Ghost Recon Future Soldier features a new adversarial game type, three new multiplayer maps, a new Guerrilla Mode co-op map, new achievements, and an increased level cap.

Here's a quick recap of what's up for grabs:

A new adversarial game type

Our new game type is called Takeover and it's playable on all 16 multiplayer maps. Similar to a classic Team Death Match, score points for your team by eliminating enemies.

Tip the scales by taking control of the objective and earn a score multiplier to your team. Defend your team's objective to prevent the enemy from gaining the same advantage.

Choose to split your team to defend and attack at the same time, or move as a group and overwhelm your enemy. When the mission ends, the team with highest score wins.

Three new multiplayer maps

• Switchback is a mix of open air markets and claustrophobic alleys divided by a busy street set in the old section of Peshawar. The twists and turns of the alleyways turn every corner into...

Video: Atari Classic Warlords Reimagined for PSN Today

115w ago - Atari Senior Director of Digital Strategy and Distribution Todd Shallbetter has announced alongside a video trailer that the classic Warlords is officially reimagined for PSN today.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links], one of Atari's original and celebrated [Register or Login to view links], is launching in updated form for the PlayStation Network today!

I'm sure there are readers out there who've spent many hours in the arcades playing Warlords and other Atari games back in the 80s. With this new PSN version, we wanted to capture all the fast-paced, multiplayer fun that made the original a hit in its day.

But as you'll see, Warlords has been completely overhauled with a new identity for modern consoles, yet we really felt it important to keep it as true to the original as possible. As Nolan Bushnell used to say, Atari games are "simple to play, difficult to master." I think you'll find that to be the case with Warlords.

The core concept of the game remains the same as the original - defend your fortress while attacking others. You can play either cooperatively or competitively, defending your fort from attacks with up to three other players.

Winning requires speed and strategy,...
