SCEA Announces Patchwork Heroes is Hitting PSN for PSP

100°
221w ago - SCEA Marketing Specialist Brian Chou has announced today that Patchwork Heroes is hitting PSN for Sony's PSP console, as follows:

Here's a first look at Patchwork Heroes, a new title that will be flying onto your PSP this spring via the PlayStation Network.

Patchwork Heroes puts the fate of a city in your hands as massive warships threaten innocent citizens. Come to the people's defense by dismantling each level's warship quickly before the ships can strike. Rescue trapped comrades along the way by releasing them from their confines.

Act fast or each ship will quickly close in on its victims in a matter of minutes. You can defeat each ship by cutting through its parts and chopping it down to size so that it can no longer fly.

To make things tougher you'll have to stop the enemy's repair workers from fixing the damage you've made mid-flight, all the while dodging enemy fire on board.

Once you've cut down a warship to a certain size it will no longer able to fly and the city will be saved.

Stay tuned for more details about the Patchwork Heroes!

So how do you get hold of a place in the Beta?

Well just simply be one of the first to log on to the PSN store on Thursday 21st and download the Beta. Once Downloaded the fun will start when the lights turn green on Friday 22nd of January.

Is it free?

Well... Ermmm... Hmmmm... How do I break this to you? YES!

What happens if I'm the 100,001 person to get to the PSN store and try to download the Beta?

Sadly the tracks will be full of racers and you will be out of luck. The Beta will disappear in to PSN Store history vault.

223w ago - Microsoft's Robbie Bach did a CES 2010 interview today, and while most of it is just a general conversation if you skip to 11:50 in the video he mentions "XBox Game Room" which sounds like it will be a one stop shop for retro games as first rumored.

Below is the official Fact Sheet information regarding the 'Game Room' which has now been made available:

Game Features:

• Relive the glory days of the classic arcade. "Game Room" replicates the old-school look, sound and feel of a retro video game arcade. At launch, "Game Room" will bring you a library of 30 original arcade and console classics such as "Centipede®" and "Asteroids Deluxe®" from Atari Inc. and other favorites from Activision Inc., Intellivision, Konami Corp. and more, all shown in their original cabinets.

Create a brand-new social environment your avatar can explore, trick out your "game room" by arranging your cabinets, and decorate each room with themes and animated icons from your favorite games. With weekly new title releases, your arcade will soon be retrofitted to perfection.

BioWare Announces Dragon Age Origins: Return to Ostagar DLC

224w ago - BioWare has announced that the long awaited downloadable content (DLC) for Dragon Age Origins, dubbed Return to Ostagar, will be released for the XBox 360 and PC on January 5, 2009.

PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait until later this January. No reasons on why the PlayStation 3 version is delayed, but perhaps it's the exclusivity BioWare is giving to Microsoft's XBox 360 and the PC.

Press Release: BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts, announced today that the Return to Ostagar downloadable content (DLC) for Dragon Age: Origins will be released on January 5 in North America and Europe for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game at a cost of 400 BioWare Points or Microsoft Points. The DLC will be available for the PlayStation 3 later in January priced at $4.99.

Return to Ostagar allows players to exact their revenge and embark on a quest for the mighty arms and armor of the once great King Cailan when they revisit Ostagar, the site of the Grey Wardens' darkest hour, to reclaim the honor and learn the secrets of Ferelden's fallen king.

Aaryn Flynn, the General Manager and Vice President at BioWare Edmonton had the following to say:

"We are thrilled at the way the fans have embraced Dragon Age: Origins and we're excited to welcome them back into the...
