Sony: PlayStation 3 Console is Not Just for Games Anymore

200°
301w ago - Sony's PlayStation 3 Marketing Manager Kim Nguyen announced that starting tonight their Video Delivery Service campaign officially launches, with our first airing on Monday Night Football.

To quote: When the Video Delivery Service launched on July 15th, we broadened our content offering to include TV shows and movies to make the PS3 the total entertainment package.

With nearly 1000 full-length movies and 2700 TV episodes for download onto the PS3 or PSP, the Video Delivery Service brings you digital entertainment right into your living room (popcorn not included). So check out great titles like The Dark Knight, Hancock, Iron Man, Family Guy, and much more.

The TV spot uses humor to convey that the PS3 is not just a gaming machine but also a "movie downloading machine" when a guy tries to win over his skeptical girlfriend.

You'll have to watch the TV spot to find out how this classic guy vs. girl face-off plays out to see who wins in the end.

Fallout 3 Patch 1.10 for PlayStation 3 Arrives, Trophies Available

50°
301w ago - To quote RichieJr of PS3Trophies (linked above):

Fallout 3 Trophies are out! And a lot sooner than most of you were expecting too! The 1.10 patch is now available for download, so you can start earning those sweet, sweet trophies. Now most of you can actually play the game instead of waiting for trophies

For the full trophy list, check HERE.

Thanks to MizuhoChan for first discovering the patch.

Note: It seems that the patch isn't available in a lot of areas. We're not sure why some of you can get it and some of you can't, all we can say is you're extremely lucky if you've got it. Hopefully it won't be too long before trophies are out for all.

PowerMad Review of Fallout 3 for the PlayStation 3 Console

301w ago - Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, and Little Big Planet, To me? Those are filler compared to the massive game known as Fallout 3.

This game could easily be called game of the year 2008 by everyone. Why? Because of 2 words, Open Environment. Fallout 3 may not have Online game play, or a chainsaw to hack people up with (Actually it does =D), but it does have what I consider to be the MOST important aspect of games this generation for the PlayStation 3.

Free roaming games have been my personal favorite from the start. But Fallout 3 goes above and beyond the call of duty, making a map nearly the size of Oblivion. But not only that, they gave us guns and a first person view. Making this the first game I have ever seen that is free roaming AND a first person shooter.

As for the plot, Your "born" in a "vault" which is a nuclear fallout shelter, you grow up until you leave the vault at 19. Inside the Vault you decide your Gender, Character looks, S.P.E.C.I.A.L., Skills, and a small amount of your Karma.

After you leave the vault you can pretty much do whatever you please. As you continue however, your level will advance through "experience points". This is where the RPG aspect of the game comes in. Every time you "Level up" You get a set amount of skill points, as well as 1 free perk. These...

300°
301w ago - SCEE's PlayStation Home service manager Dan Hill has stated that in time PlayStation Home will definitely become a reason to buy the PS3. He added that right now the service is evolving, and no one else is doing anything on the same scale or ambition.

To quote: Speaking to CVG, Home service manager for SCEE Dan Hill stated: "In time I would say that Home will definitely become a reason to purchase PS3. Today, we are at the beginning of a long journey - now is the time to start its evolution. No one else is doing anything of this scale or ambition.

The PlayStation Network is getting better all the time. Home is integral to our online offering. If you buy a PS3 and you grow with us, as Home evolves, you are going to become part of something very special, something unlike you can experience anywhere else."

301w ago - When people were clammering about how they don't care about backwards compatibility, then when it was cut and people whined, we kept our mouth shut.

When 360 announced they will allow games to be copied to the hard drive, much like the PS3 has done from day one, we didn't say anything. But, we feel it is time to speak up.

The Game is Called "LET'S COMPARE"

So you think your 360 is great? Ok, we can agree with you. But lets compare apples to apples here. What does it take to get your 360 up to par with the PlayStation?

Price

First off, the 360 has dropped its prices considerably, the least of which is sitting at $199. Not half bad. But to truly enjoy the services Xbox 360 can offer you, what do you need?
