76w ago - Today Creator Chris Boelinger has revealeed that the Dungeon Twister board game will be arriving on PSN this coming Tuesday with details below.
To quote: My name is Christophe Boelinger, and I create board games.
To date, I've made more than 30, most of which are available in North America. My life is dedicated to games, so it goes without saying that I've always dreamt of having one of my board games turned into a video game.
Its modularity, its infinite gameplay, its never-ending renewal, the tremendous variety in strategies that can be deployed, and most of all its addictive nature.
So when I met the guys from Hydravision at a board game convention, it was a revelation – and the beginning of Dungeon Twister as a video game. Dungeon Twist makes the jump to PSN this Tuesday, July 3rd.
So what is Dungeon Twister? It is a turn-based strategy game that some describe as a mix between chess and Dungeons & Dragons. The story is simple: A powerful character called the Arch-Mage has discovered immortality.
77w ago - 2XL Games Creative Director Robb Rinard has announced today that Jeremy McGrath's Offroad will be speeding to PSN on Tuesday at 1080p and 60 fps with details below!
To quote: We're pretty stoked to be able to say that our digital racing title, Jeremy McGrath's Offroad, is nearing the finish line and will be launching on PlayStation Network next Tuesday, June 26.
We've been hard at work on this fantastic and surprisingly deep arcade-style racer for quite some time now. Now buckle up and I'll explain why you should you be interested in Jeremy McGrath's Offroad.
First of all, as some of you may know, 2XL Games has a very strong racing game development pedigree. Many of our lead programmers and artists worked on the MX vs. ATV series and here at 2XL have put out several extremely successful racing apps and games. We are proud to be among the premier racing game developers.
What makes a top quality racing game? Having fun learning how to master the driving physics, then using that mastery to find the fastest line around the track. Since you're driving on dirt, this game is all about learning to power slide your vehicle around the corners while staying on that perfect line. Start your turns a bit...
85w ago - Telltale Games Writer and Designer Jake Rodkin has announced today that The Walking Dead video game series will be lurching on PSN Tuesday with pre-purchase details below.
To quote: I'm Jake from Telltale Games and I'm clawing my way to bring you up to speed with our latest game series.
While some of our previous games like Back to the Future: The Game have been pretty light-hearted, we couldn't have gone darker than our next project, a five part episodic series based on Robert Kirkman's Eisner award-winning comic book series, The Walking Dead.
First, the good news: The first episode of The Walking Dead, 'A New Day,' will arrive on PSN this Tuesday, April 24th. Each episode will cost $4.99 on the PlayStation Store, and you'll be able to pre-purchase the entire five-episode season for $19.99 to save $4.99 off of the total season price and nab an exclusive PS3 premium theme (head to the bottom of the post for more details).
Not only is The Walking Dead game darker and more violent than anything the studio has done before, but it also provides a very different gameplay experience compared to our previous games.
One major way that the game differs from previous...
93w ago - Sony Creative Director Chris Sorrell has announced today that the PS2 cult classic Primal is coming to PSN on Tuesday.
To quote: Primal grew from a warm, happy, and long-lost place where we were insanely fortunate enough to have an amazing team, an exciting new platform to build for (PlayStation 2!), and the freedom to make the game we wanted to make.
Core influences were some of the awesome TV shows of the day: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dark Angel to name the foremost. We wanted to build a game that captured the vibe of these shows while also showing off some of the cool technical and artistic things we thought we could achieve with the (then) new PS2.
The premise was a classic: pretty girl meets gargoyle, explores demon worlds, acquires demonic powers, and (spoiler!) has to kill her boyfriend to save the universe.
We were lucky to hook up with our dream voice cast to bring these characters to life - Hudson Leick (best known from the Xena: Warrior Princess) and the fantastic and sadly missed Andreas Katsulas (whose work on Babylon 5 I so admired).
Together they brought a truly unusual warmth to our main characters that stood out at the time, and remains quite special even to this day.
100w ago - Leader inXile CEO Brian Fargo has announced today alongside a video trailer that Choplifter HD will be hitting PS3 on PSN Tuesday and includes zombies!
To quote: I really get a kick out of the fact that I am now considered an "indie" again after all these years.
I have been making games for nearly 30 years, having built a top-five PC publishing house called Interplay around such major franchises as The Bard's Tale, Wasteland, Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Descent and more.
In the early days, I developed games for other companies and moved up the food chain to become a publisher so that I could make games "my way."
And here I sit, again readying our first major release in Choplifter HD as a digital publisher and having created the game the way I wanted. Our company tagline at Interplay was "By Gamers. For Gamers" and it is those same values we used in creating Choplifter HD.
Choplifter was a very important game when it was originally released back in 1982 and achieved #1 status at the time. Dan Gorlin, the original creator, really understood the humanness of saving little people from tough situations.
It was a great action game for sure, but there was something about saving those little guys. And certainly...
