Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack - Platform Fun for PS Vita

50°
150w ago - DrinkBox Studios COO Graham Smith has shared details today on Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, which is a new platforming title for the PS Vita handheld console.

To quote: So you are probably thinking "Mutant Blobs Attack? Never heard of it. Why should I care about this game? A

lso, why does [Register or Login to view links] always have so many cat pictures on the front page?" Well, the first thing you need to do is unsubscribe from [Register or Login to view links]. After that's done, let me tell you a few reasons you should care about Mutant Blobs Attack.

First, you enjoy platformers but are maybe a bit tired of the typical offerings, and are looking for something fresh. You were thinking of buying a Vita, and need something fun to play in between your sessions of Michael Jackson the Experience.

You also have a sense of humor and are tired of games that take themselves too seriously. Maybe you also enjoy monster movies that feature the destruction of all mankind, or perhaps have a slight Blob fetish?

And, if all of the above items apply, then this is REALLY the game for you.

Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a follow up to Tales from Space: About a Blob released early 2011 on the PlayStation 3 (via PSN). Mutant...

Video: Mortal Kombat PS3 Development at NetherRealm Studios

173w ago - Today Director of Art Steve Beran has shared some video footage of Mortal Kombat PS3 Development at NetherRealm Studios.

To quote: I'm really happy to see the upcoming release of the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, which hits PSN next Tuesday, August 30th.

The MKAK is a great way to relive the classic Mortal Kombat arcade games right in your own living room, but I'm also excited that players who enjoyed this year's new Mortal Kombat will soon have the opportunity to play the first three games that set the foundation for the entire fighting-game franchise.

I was introduced to Mortal Kombat on April 20th, 1992. I was fresh out of art school and starting my career at Williams/Bally/Midway.

I remembered being overwhelmed that I was actually walking into the building where some of my favorite games were created: Narc, Robotron, Defender, and Smash TV just to name a few. Mortal Kombat was yet to be released. However there were a few Mortal Kombat prototypes lining the halls of Midway that we could test out.

I remember being just blown away by my first experiences with Mortal Kombat. What first struck me was the size of the digitized characters on the screen. They were huge! I remember selecting Kano as my first character: I was a big Terminator fan at the time,...

Tales From Space: About a Blob New Co-op Map Pack Hits PSN

50°
181w ago - DrinkBox Studios CTO & Designer Chris Harvey has announced today news of a new Tales From Space: About a Blob Co-op Map Pack hitting PSN soon.

To quote: Greetings once again, opaque and bipedal earthlings! It's been awhile since I, Orange Blob, have been in touch. You may remember me from my PSN game Tales from Space: About a Blob, where I grew and consumed your world and all its inhabitants.

I've been away recently, you see, visiting a strange and unusual planet in a not-too-distant solar system. I was accompanied by my good friend Green Blob. It's nice to travel with friends, although Green Blob sometimes snores.

Exploring an alien planet is not for the faint of heart. Throughout our adventures, we were often confronted by tricky alien contraptions that required BOTH of us to get past. All this puzzle solving leaves a Blob feeling pretty hungry. Luckily, we were able to sample some local delicacies, i.e. the alien life-forms. They taste exactly like chicken.

Once again, the folks over at [Register or Login to view links] have been kind enough to re-create our adventures in video-game form. If you have a friend nearby, toss them a controller and see if you can put your brains together to solve these wacky alien puzzles!

Video: The Tale of Okabu by HandCircus is Coming Soon to PSN

50°
183w ago - HandCircus Founder Simon Oliver has posted up a video today of The Tale of Okabu, which he also confirms is coming soon to PlayStation Network.

To quote: We're slightly over-excited about the upcoming release of our brand-new PS3 title Okabu.

While we're best known for creating handheld titles (we are the creators of the Rolando series), we've found the allure of developing for PlayStation 3 impossible to resist, and so have swapped our touch screens for Dualshocks.

For the last two years we have been beavering away creating a brand new world and an all-new adventure, Okabu, that will be coming to exclusively to PSN in the coming months.

Okabu is a co-op action-puzzle-adventure, following the exploits of a two Cloud-whales, Kumulo and Nimbe, as they battle to save their people and their world from the industrialized threat of the Doza clan (a rather unpleasant collection of machinery-obsessed tyrants).

The tale of Okabu begins in the ancestral lands of an ancient race of Cloud-Whales - as vast clouds of toxic pollution have risen from the surface, the sky-dwellers have become struck by a great sickness. Two of the remaining healthy Cloud-Whales (the brothers Kumulo and Nimbe) are dispatched by the Cloud-whale...

209w ago - Telltale Games Co-Lead Writer and Designer Mark Darin has shared a video today announcing that Strong Bad is now available on PSN.

To quote: If you haven't already heard, or are living under some kind of boulder-type rock, Strong Bad just hit PSN!

That's right, [Register or Login to view links]'s Cool Game For Attractive People is now on the PS3!

Like most of Telltale's games, this is a five-episode comedy adventure featuring the popular and bizarre characters of [Register or Login to view links] as they sabotage the Big Race, engage in a civil war, stage an epic battle of the bands, create a blockbuster summer action movie, and battle the dragon-man Trogdor inside the many poly-triangled world of Videogames!

And all for just $14.99. Yes, that's right - less than $3.00 per game!

We've introduced a whole set of new Trophies and tweaked the controls so that the PS3 version is the best version yet!

Here's a fun side note: each episode features an 8-bit style mini game playable from within the main game. The designer for each episode was responsible for their own mini game, that includes design, graphics and programming!

It's...
