15w ago - Sony Director of Marketing Peter Jamshidi officially announced today that the PlayStation Now PS4 Private Beta starts tomorrow with details below!

To quote: Hi all, since January, a growing number of PlayStation fans have been enjoying the Private Beta program for PlayStation Now, our streaming game service launching this summer.

Up until this point, our Private Beta for PS Now has been available on PlayStation 3 systems. We're pleased to announce that the Private Beta program is expanding and will make its debut on PlayStation 4 systems on May 20. Sony Announces Transistor Out Tuesday, Recursion Mode Revealed

15w ago - Supergiant Games Creative Director Greg Kasavin announced today via Sony's blog that Transistor for PS4 is out Tuesday alongside Recursion Mode details below.

To quote: Transistor is less than a week away! Things are eerily calm for us at [Register or Login to view links] as we await the moment when our new game becomes available worldwide, at which point we'll find out at long last what everybody really thinks!

It's been immensely gratifying to have worked on something that so many folks are excited about. Though, knowing full well just how little of the game we've shown, I'm eager to see the response to all the many aspects of the game we've purposely kept secret.

I'd like to talk about one of those aspects here, but first! Let me tell you why we've opted to keep so quiet through most of Transistor's development.

"The less you know about Transistor, the more likely it is to surprise you."

We could have shown more. Since you're reading this on PlayStation.Blog, I'd bet you're pretty up to date on what's happening in games in general. You know the typical PR cycle for a big game involves tons of trailers, previews, press releases, and so on, and maybe eventually a round or two of hands-on impressions before the game is finally released....

Video: Sony Announces VizionEck PS4 is Coming to PlayStation 4

16w ago - VizionEck Founder and Lead Developer Michael Armbrust announced via Sony's blog today that VizionEck PS4 is coming to PlayStation 4 with details and a video trailer below.

To quote: Hello! Today's the day that VizionEck on PS4 gets announced to the world. I'm Michael Armbrust, the founder of VizionEck. I'm also the lead developer of VizionEck.

Did you catch that? Yes, our studio and our studio's first game have matching names. VizionEck is making VizionEck. So what is VizionEck (the game)?

The announcement trailer has a lot of secrets and game features hidden in it. If you didn't put the clues together, I'll help you out with some of the basics. VizionEck is technically an FPS. It has very little in common with the traditional FPS though. In the game you play as a Ranger - essentially just a cube.

He's pretty simplistic in design, isn't he? VizionEck's art-style is focused on being clean and elegant. We really love the prospect of making a game that's mathematically "exact." Almost everything follows a strict set of rules. The resulting world feels extremely harmonious 99% of the time.

It also creates a great environment for the gameplay. One example of this is how VizionEck's health system works. As a Ranger, your health is displayed as the brightness of your...

Rumored Sony E3 2014 Press Conference Details Leaked

17w ago - Today some rumored Sony E3 ([Register or Login to view links]) 2014 Press Conference details were leaked by an anonymous source via DualShockers (linked above) which include Uncharted, The Order, Guerrilla, Media Molecule and more outlined below.

To quote: "We’re just a bit over a month to E3, and today a source that opted to remain anonymous contacted us to share what he alleges to be Sony Computer Entertainment’s plans for their press conference.

Our source mentioned that the information comes from contacts within Sony’s worldwide studios and a further contact at the BBH New York marketing firm, which works with Sony for part of its promotion.

The info reported below is awfully detailed, which is one of the reasons why we decided to publish it, but we were also able to confirm part of it with a second source. The double-sourced information is bolded, so while you should take everything with the customary grain of salt, the bolded parts stand on more solid ground than the rest.

• Uncharted PS4 3 Minute Trailer showcasing "In-engine" footage interspersed with gameplay segments. Visuals are supposedly unprecedented and set a benchmark for console graphics. Summer 2015 release date. It looks absolutely stellar. Features tropical...
