280w ago - Today, Capcom announced that North American PC gamers will be able to get their hands on Resident Evil 5 on September 15th.

European PC owners will have to wait three extra days, or September 18th, to get their hands on the game.

To quote: The PC version will have a couple of additional things from the console versions – chiefly, stereoscopic 3D, as well as new costumes and "new and improved" mercenary mode that boasts three times as many enemies.

Capcom promised that "more details" will be available on the PC version of RE5 in the coming months.

Resident Evil 5 Patch 1.03 Out, Gamesave Protection Removed!

285w ago - According to both Tawkn (linked above) as well as users on the [Register or Login to view links], the Resident Evil 5 Patch 1.03 is now available and apparently it has removed gamesave protection so users can back them up.

To quote: Fire up Resident Evil 5 and you will be prompted to download the 38MB v1.03 patch. But what has changed?

Well, the only thing I noticed so far is that saved game data is no longer copy-protected! This is a huge, huge plus in my eyes.

Its extremely useful to me. Like I said I have two PS3's and I didnt feel like beating the game all over again just so I could play it in the other room. Why copy protect something that just hinders the people who bought it?

Resident Evil: Director's Cut PSOne Available Tomorrow on PSN

200°
287w ago - Capcom's Project Manager Matt Dahlgren announced today that Resident Evil: Director's Cut (PSOne) will be hitting PSN tomorrow:

Today I get to blog about the PSone Resident Evil: Director's Cut, which will be available for download tomorrow on PSN for $9.99.

I don't think I'll ever get to make a statement like this in a blog ever again.

The original Resident Evil is a game that defined my personality as a gamer for years to come. (I've got two others on my list of influential games, FF7 and Tekken, each for their respective genre - but I'll keep this RE centered.)

The early experiences that you have in gaming set you up for what to expect in the future. If you have a positive enough experience, you attempt to find it time and time again - but I don't think a game will ever affect me in the same way that this one did.

Going back and tinkering around with this game after so many years off got me thinking about how different gaming was 10 years ago in comparison to today. Games back then were hard. I remember dying at the first zombie while trying to figure out a weird control scheme, yet being mesmerized with the fact that I could control the outcome in a 3D environment.

It took me a while to get the grasp of everything, and I died...

Capcom CFO Makes Statement on Bringing Resident Evil 5 to Wii

100°
288w ago - After recent rumors, Capcom's Chief Financial Officer Abe Kazuhiko has updated his statement about Resident Evil 5 coming to Wii.

To quote: "Up until now, after releasing our PS3 and XBox 360 games, we have brought them to Wii.

Basically, this is the approach we are considering taking."

More ports? Even Peter Moore knows thats a bad word.

With Dead Rising being on Wii expect more ports to come out of Capcom's camp.

Confirmed: Capcom is Not Remaking Resident Evil 3 for Wii

100°
291w ago - Last night, Resident evil fans got a glimmer of hope that a remake or re-release of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was heading to Wii.

According to Capcom's Press Site, Resident Evil 3 was listed as coming to Wii along side the confirmed title 'The Darkside Chronicles'.

However, those with access to the Capcom press site will be able to tell you this listing includes artwork from the original Resident Evil remake coming to Wii.

Christian Svensson from Capcom has also denined the rumors of a re-release of Resident Evil 3: "It's either a shop or a typo. False rumor."

So there you have it. No Resident Evil 3 remake on the Wii. Let's just keep dreaming...
