There's Gran Turismo 5, Any Other Good 2009 Racing Games?

100°
289w ago - Gran Turismo 5 is expected to be one of the best racing titles of 2009. Judging by the standards of GT5: Prologue, the combination of graphics and realistic handling, makes it one of the best titles out there.

However, what other games can we expect to be of good quality in 2009. In my opinion, none really can compare to GT5, but there are some still very good contenders. Below are some of my picks of worthy racing titles to get in 09. You tell me what you think.

Ferrari Project
Even though not much news has surfaced recently, the visuals provided are astounding and are comparable to that of Gran Turismo 5. Some even claim that the graphics look a bit more realistic than GT5: Prologue in some head-to-head comparisons. Also, a couple months ago, someone was able to get a hands on and said that the handling of the vehicles were very remarkable. This game is centred around Ferrari vehicles however, so that's what I consider one of the downfalls.

It would have been interesting to see what potential this game had if they focused on a wider range of cars. The last time we heard about this game, it was said that it would be made available in 2009. However, Blimey! games haven't given any information about this game recently. This is an Xbox 360 and PC only title. I could see this...

Grid is the Most Exciting Racing Game Ever Made!

50°
319w ago - Speaking to ButtonBandits.com, Chief Game Designer Ralph Fulton has said that he believes forthcoming title GRID is the most exciting racing game ever made and that competing titles such as Forza and Gran Turismo are all about the car list rather than racing.

When asked if he was pleased development was now over and how he thought the final product had shaped up Ralph said "we have been desperate to get everything into it we wanted to get into it and I think we're all really pleased now the dust has settled on it with the product we've got.

I think it's a really exciting racing game, I'd go as far to say it's the most exciting racing game ever made, it looks stunning and I think were all going to take a well deserved rest after this."

On comments in forums and online on the number of cars in the game compared to competing titles such as Gran Tourismo and Forza, Ralph said "Yeah I can understand that. When you have competing games like Gran Turismo and Forza, which pride themselves on the car list, there all about the car list, that's their focus. I know Turn 10 have been quite open about the fact that Forza is just really a car list. Which is great for them.

Does it make sense for Codemasters to try and do the...
