171w ago - A few days ago PSJailBreak Reverse-Engineering work began, and today German site GamerFreax.de (linked above) has posted a breakdown of the PSJailBreak, how it was reverse engineered and notes that it requires additional hardware to update.
Below is the rough translation of the PS JailBreak reverse-engineering details, to quote:
"We have the PSJailbreak dongle yet again brought out of retirement to put it more precisely Herbs to take a closer look. We tell you here in brief the main steps of the internal process of PSJailbreak.
We can confirm that it can not confirm that PSJailbreak a clone of Sony's "Jig" is module. PSJailbrak is an exploit honest self-developed. The chip is not but a PIC18F444 ATMega with software USB.
This means the chip is internally capable of USB to emulate. PSJailbreak mainly be emulated 6Port a USB hub connected to a specific end USB devices and then disconnected. 171w ago - According to the folks over at PS3JailBreak.com (linked above), an image marked Titan JailBreak was recently uncovered on the official PS JailBreak site's Web server.
Yesterday we reported that the PS JailBreak launch was going to be delayed approximately a week, and now some are speculating as to whether Titan JailBreak is an official PS JailBreak clone or simply a name while the PS3 modchip was still in development.
To quote: "An image found on psjailbreak's official site shows the name "Titan Jailbreak" It is unknown exactly why this banner is on the official site. Could this be the name of an upcoming official clone of the PSJailbreak?
Perhaps due to the component shortage earlier reported, the manufacturer has decided to make a rebranded clone with different components. This is purely speculation but it would make sense."
171w ago - Today the x3JailBreak site has been updated stating that they have taken over 100 requests for free x3JailBreak samples and are in the process of shipping them out, and the PS JailBreak launch has been delayed.
Additionally, Logic-Sunrise.com has confirmed the x3JailBreak PS3 modchips are in production, so those who do not receive a sample can rest assured they are infact legitimate and coming soon for around 49 €.
CJPC will be testing out the x3JailBreak PS3 modchip here when it arrives, and if all goes well the rumor of the x3JailBreak clone being labeled a fake will be debunked.
Those who pre-ordered the PSJailBreak may have to wait an extra week to receive it, according to xiaNaix of PSX-Scene (linked above) who is close to the the team a shortage of components is being blamed for the launch delay.
