Mushroom Wars Online DLC on PSN Today, Tournament Incoming

50°
158w ago - Creat Studios Marketing and PR Coordinator Bill Fryer has announced that Mushroom Wars Online DLC hits PSN today, and that a developer tournament is also incoming.

To quote: Bill from Creat here, and I'm excited to announce our US release of the Mushroom Wars Online DLC on April 5th for $2.99.

The original Mushroom Wars is available on PSN for $9.99.

The original Mushroom Wars is a fast-paced and accessible RTS, with a quaint, anime-inspired visual style in which players send their cute armies into battle, upgrade their mushroom bases, improve their weaponry and fight skirmishes in close-quarter maps.

Mushroom Wars Online introduces several expansions to these features, the most exciting being the ability to spread their fungal domination into the online realm with four-player online multiplayer support.

Along with the addition of online multiplayer support, Mushroom Wars Online introduces a number of new features to the original title, including local multiplayer support for up to four players. Players can enjoy custom matches against online friends for training and entertainment, or watch others battle from the sidelines to hone their strategic skills....

I didn't know about Jack Chen aka anita999's IDA SPU module until yesterday evening.

So we were actually working on the same.. Anyway I had to finish what I started, and saw that our internal structures defer quite a bit..

If you are interested, binaries and MIT licensed sources can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/ida-spu/

This is a IDA processor module for the IBM Cell Synergistic Processor Unit (SPU) (that can be found in the PS3 for example).

Video: MotorStorm Apocalypse PS3 Dev Diary Details The Festival

50°
173w ago - Evolution Studios Game Director Matt Southern shared a fresh video today spotlighting the MotorStorm Apocalypse PS3 developer diary with details of The Festival and new gameplay.

To quote: We teamed up with the guys in the video production department at Studio Liverpool to produce three video diaries focusing on the two main modes in the upcoming MotorStorm Apocalypse.

Both modes have been present in every MotorStorm game, but we're trying to do a lot more with them this time round. This one is all about Festival mode, which is our version of a 'Campaign.'

There's a ton of unseen game footage in this video that I hope you like and also some glimpses into the recording of the original soundtrack.

It features Paul 'Rushy' Rustchynsky, our Lead Designer and handling design guru, and Simon 'Barlos' Barlow, our invaluable Assistant Game Director who looks after big chunks of the gameplay features.

We call our more flexible free-play mode 'Wreckreation,' and it needs two video diaries to fully explain. They'll follow soon. For now, enjoy our first video diary focusing on The Festival!

PS3MrEnigma Explains Mount Alejandro PS3 Dev Flash Homebrew

400°
174w ago - A few days back we reported on Mount Alejandro PS3 Dev Flash Homebrew by Spanish developers JaiCraB and ps3mrenigma, and today ps3mrenigma has explained it in further detail on his blog (linked above).

To quote, roughly translated: First of all, apologize for making this post nearly a week after the appearance of the application,

Unfortunately I have the time to update the blog as I wanted, but nevertheless, better late than never,

I want to thank all those who have had words of thanks to the program, I am pleased to see that it was well accepted.

Although I could not help but read some comments that came a few days ago and that made me laugh, lack of knowledge by giving statements without really knowing how the application.

That is why what has happened to answer some questions that might exist.

A. Do you use 'Alexander' some unknown exploit?

The answer is NO. The method that uses 'Alexander' to perform its function is very simple, there is nothing magical nor is it an exploit, as I read, still laughing a while ago of some user.

While exploits in the PS3 know, none of them is used in 'Alexander', are not necessary...
