Sony Invites Fans to Party with SingStar in PlayStation Home!

193w ago - Today Sony European Product Manager Erica Doddato has cordially invited fans to come and party with SingStar in PlayStation Home!

To quote: Have you checked out the new [Register or Login to view links] Rooms in PlayStation Home yet?

Complete with new tracks to get down to on the dance floor and loads more videos on the big screen, the SingStar Rooms have never felt so good.

While you're there, make sure you pay a visit to the SingStar Store, the new designer outlet for SingStar fans, open for business for the first time in PlayStation Home.

To celebrate the release of the two new titles SingStar Dance and SingStar Guitar on PlayStation 3, the SingStar Store is stocking some pretty special costumes.

There's Guitar Guy and Guitar Girl for those who love to rock 'n' roll, and Disco Guy and Disco Girl for people who like to get down with the beat. All these costumers will come with custom walk and dance animations.

These aren't the only new outfits we created for you... head over to the new SingStar Store to discover many more! While you're there, you can also browse through all the SingStar song packs and buy them.

And to top it off, a great new mini-game will await you in the Rooms from 2 December onwards.
 

Dragon's Lair, GT5 & My Chemical Romance Hit PlayStation Home

193w ago - PlayStation Home Community Manager Locust_Star has revealed today that Dragon's Lair, GT5 and My Chemical Romance are hitting PlayStation Home this week starting tomorrow.

To quote: One of this year's most anticipated games and eagerly awaited albums pair up in PlayStation Home this week for a special giveaway.

Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, November 18th, visitors to PlayStation Home's Central Plaza or Theater will be able to pick up an exclusive Gran Turismo 5 costume designed by the platinum-selling rock band, [Register or Login to view links].

The band's single "Planetary (Go!)" from the upcoming Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, is the main song in GT5's opening cinematic sequence. This special racing suit will only be available for a limited time, so be sure to log in to PlayStation Home Thursday and pick yours up while you can!

SingStar Rooms & Shopping Centre Updates Hit PlayStation Home

193w ago - SCEE Home Community Lead Alex Weekes has posted up this weeks PlayStation Home content, which includes SingStar rooms and shopping centre updates among the changes.

To quote: Announcing a revamp of SingStar Rooms and the grand opening of SingStar Store!

Celebrate the release of [Register or Login to view links] & SingStar Guitar by rocking out in designer clothing, complete with exclusive animations. There's plenty of new music, videos and craziness to be had!

For the launch of the SingStar Store you'll find five female costumes and three male costumes alongside SingStar song packs. Within the SingStar Rooms you'll find an expanded range of music playing.

Check out the GAME Moonbase this week, where GAME launch real and virtual stores in PlayStation Home. Starting tomorrow, games will be available on the moon... well sort of.

The GAME Moonbase in PlayStation Home will open it's doors to the GAME V virtual goods store selling game-based items and apparel exclusively for Home users, and The Moonbase Shop - a PlayStation Home first - offers direct sale of [Register or Login to view links] titles from The Moonbase delivered straight to your (real) door courtesy of GAME.

PlayStation Home 1.4 Update Arrives: Voice Chat, Groups & More!

194w ago - A few days ago PlayStation Home Client Update version 1.4 was first announced, complete with a changelog and features, and today SCEE's Home Community Lead Alex Weekes has shared some last-minute launch details, as follows:

As we announced last Friday, tomorrow we will be releasing a new version of the PlayStation Home client: 1.4 is here!

In addition to the features already announced - new wardrobe, grouping, and voice chat - there are several other noteworthy improvements and additions.

First amongst those is the new Character Status settings, enabling you to set a status from a variety of new options including Happy, Sad, Busy and more! Even better, many of these status options will adjust your avatars facial expression and idle animations to match.

Other changes coming with 1.4 include improvements to the menu pad and Navigator, which can now be accessed directly by holding down the Start button. With the new cross-game invite support, you can invite your friends to join you in Home more easily than ever before.

New PlayStation Home PDA System and Status Updates Incoming

194w ago - A few days back we reported on the PlayStation Home Client Update version 1.4 patch notes, which arrives on November 11, and today PlayStationLifeStyle.net (linked above) has made available some leaked PlayStation Home screenshots that indicate a new PDA System, Status Updates and pets for Sony's virtual world are incoming.

While there is no confirmation yet if these changes will be included in the 1.4 update or shortly thereafter, based on the pictures they are definitely coming soon.

To quote: "Locust_Star confirmed that the Home wardrobe system would be experiencing a significant overhaul, and it appears that part of that overhaul will mean simpler, faster interface options through the PDA, much like the new start-up screen that users are used to.

Next we notice that users will now have the ability to select a status for their avatar, making it easier to let others know that you don't want to be bothered, or that you want to get a game going; this may even grant users the ability to change facial expressions, which many have been asking...
