2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN Game releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

There's a place for both fantasy and sci-fi nerds this week, as Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut and LEGO The Hobbit come to PlayStation. Rejoice, and bask in the glory of either fandom (Or both!).

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut on PS4 propels gamers into heart-racing battles through space. Participate in an interstellar war and save Earth from destruction using the awe-inspiring Strike Suit - a powerful ship that can transform into a suit of armor.

Take on 17 unique story missions, match wits with intelligent enemy fighters, and face colossal capital ships for unparalleled glory. Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut features customizable weapon loadouts, multiple craft, and unmatched dogfighting action.

If swords and questing sound more suitable, explore a delightfully blocky Middle-earth with LEGO The Hobbit on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. Experience the first two feature films in a whole new way, with iconic characters rendered as loveable LEGO heroes. Guide Bilbo, Gandalf, and the Dwarves through familiar locations in an effort to reach the Misty Mountains. Forge new items, mine for gems, and take incredible loot from enemies.

Video: Beatshapers Reveal Z-Run Coming to PlayStation Vita This May

2w ago - Beatshapers Founder and CEO Alexey Menshikov revealed today alongside a video trailer that Z-Run is coming to PlayStation Vita this May.

To quote: Hello there! This is Alexey Menshikov from Beatshapers, and we're proudly announcing Z-Run for PS Vita, coming to PlayStation Store this May.

We moved back the launch date since last summer's announcement in order to make our game bigger and better. Our previous games on PS Vita include StarDrone Extreme, BreakQuest, Furmins, and dozens of PSP minis - along with the recently announced PS4 title, Ready to Run.

Today, we're presenting a gameplay tutorial trailer with the awesome song "You Better Run," made especially for the game by The Spin Wires band.

The world has been overrun by flesh-hungry zombies, and you're stranded in the middle of a post-apocalyptic city with no way out. Are you going to just stand there and get eaten, and turn into a brainless creature, too? Not likely.

In Z-Run, you never stand still. Anyone who does winds up dead. Stay on your toes if you want to stay alive. The city is a mess after the zombie apocalypse struck, so you need to be agile as well as fast while you attempt to sprint through the crowds of undead assailants....

2w ago - Today GamePointsNow (linked above) has detailed the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) game installation sizes primarily intended for those who haven't upgraded their stock 500GB PS4 hard drive.

To quote: PlayStation 4 (PS4) Game Installation Sizes

With the release of the next generation consoles it’s clear that Sony has one eye on a purely digital future with day and date digital releases and of course it’s excellent PS+ offerings.

But with only a 500GB hard drive included in the PS4 console and mandatory installs for every title (and 92GB reserved for the OS), just how long is it going to take before you have to switch it out for a bigger drive? We at GamePointsNow have produced a reference guide for all PS4 releases to date*

*Initial downloads only, correct at date of publication. Further patches may be required.

Game Title / Publisher / Game Size

  • Fez / Polytron / 222MB
  • inFamous: Second Son / Sony Computer Entertainment / 23.8GB
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes / Konami / 3.9GB

Sony Details First 2 Hours of Child of Light PS4 on PlayStation 4

100°
2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements detailed the first two hours of Child of Light PS4 on PlayStation 4 below today.

To quote: Before a crumbling statue in a dark wood, Aurora faces her first enemy in Child of Light. As it screeches in the little girls' direction, she hefts her oversized sword into the air with supreme confidence.

She's unfazed by its arachnid frame and menacing gait. This encounter depicts Child of Light in its purest form: unflinching, beautiful, and defiant of expectations. It's a PS3 and PS4 RPG that celebrates the RPG tradition while striking out on a new path, wholly its own.

When I first wrote about Child of Light last year, Aurora had already embarked on her adventure through the enchanting world of Lemuria.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to play the opening two hours, uninterrupted. The result: an unassailable emotional connection to Aurora and her quest. The team at Ubisoft Montreal has crafted a heart-rending story, steeped in detail and welcoming to young gamers as well as old.

Aurora's arrival in Lemuria is immediately tragic. Daughter to an Austrian duke, the young girl falls ill and wakes in...

Video: High Pressure: New SOMA PS4 Trailer on PlayStation 4

2w ago - Frictional Games Creative Director Thomas Grip posted up a new PS4 trailer video showcasing SOMA on PlayStation 4 dubbed High Pressure today.

To quote: It's time to reveal a secret about our upcoming horror game, SOMA. Before reading any further, take a look at this trailer:

That's right, our next game will be set deep below the water's surface - at the bottom of the sea. It was a decision which came very swiftly; Jens (co-founder of Frictional Games) and I sort of decided it on whim during a meet-up.

But it's something that had been brewing inside us for a long time. Most of our earth is covered in ocean, and yet it's something that we know very little about. It is an incredibly hostile environment filled with strange creatures, and it is right on our door step.

Most of the ocean is devoid of sunlight and inhospitable to us. The differences in pressure between the surface and even a modest depth of 100 meters is enough to turn a human into mush. That pressure, that depth, is nothing compared to the true ocean deeps.

And as if this isn't enough, the creatures living there seem like they're from another world. Gigantic squid, luminescent fish and creatures that are all mouths and teeth...
