Wii Speak Channel Only for Wii Speak Purchasers, Don't Buy Used

283w ago - A Nintendo rep has said that the only way gamers will be able to download the Wii Speak Channel is with a "Wii Download Ticket Number" that is printed in a pamphlet that comes with the Wii Speak microphone.

This apparently means that if you buy the peripheral it used, you won't be able to use it as you can't download the Wii Speak Channel.

To quote: But there's a catch, a fine print surprise. There is a pamphlet packaged with the peripheral that includes a 16-character code, a "Wii Download Ticket Number," to be used for downloading the Wii Speak Channel.

According to the pamphlet, this code "cannot be replaced by Nintendo or your retailer if it is lost or stolen."

Resistance 2: Thanks for Not Using a 5GB HDD Install, 350MB Only

400°
283w ago - Game installs on the PlayStation 3 have become a huge problem. We've seen hard drives fill to capacity already and there looks to be no end in sight.

I was pleasantly surprised when Resistance 2 nixed that huge 5GB install that most games these days require.

This isn't to say there's no install. The game drops roughly 350MB of data onto your hard drive, which takes about 90 seconds. Not bad at all considering games like NBA 09: The Inside use over 2.5GB of precious hard drive space.

I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Kudos, Insomniac! Good job stepping in and putting a stop (or at least a pause) the problematic game installs that are plaguing the PS3. Keep up the good work!

Atlus Announces There Will Be Only One Version of Persona 4

284w ago - I don't know about anyone else, but I've been holding onto two copies of Persona 3 for quite some time now. The original came in this nice box with an art book, and then FES came out and I just couldn't bring myself to give up to original. So there you go.

Will the same thing happen? Atlus says no.

"We are today able to announce that at no point in the future will we announce the release of a "FES" version of Persona 4," said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The very finest, most definitive version of Persona 4 will be the one released on December 9, 2008."

Now if only we could convince them to quit letting places like amazon release awesome pre-order junk, I will be extremely happy. I want my tele-teddy darn it!

285w ago - Per Hiroshi Matsuyama (CyberConnect2) via PS Blog today:

Hello, PlayStation.Blog readers, I'm Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2, the developer of NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM. I'm very excited to have this opportunity to speak with you all about the game. Since this is my first post, I'll cover the basics today.

I'm sure some of you that have seen our trailers for the game have thought "I bet this is just a pre-rendered movie" - but it's not! Everything from all of our trailers is 100% real-time footage from the game running on PLAYSTATION 3 hardware that you will all be able to experience when the game is released next week.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm features two main game modes for players to enjoy - "Free Battle Mode" and "Ultimate Mission Mode." In Free Battle Mode, you can play as one of 25 characters from the animated series. The battles aren't strictly one-on-one either - you can bring two support characters into every battle, who will help you out in short bursts.

This is the same three person team structure as the TV series, but now you can create your own teams with all sorts of original combinations. We've put a lot of effort into our battles to...
