White Knight Chronicles 2 for PS3 is Officially Announced

274w ago - White Knight Chronicles 2 was first revealed almost two months back, but today Level-5 has officially announced it for PS3.

The latest issue of Famitsu magazine confirms the game title as White Knight Chronicles: The Awaken of the Light & Darkness, and the first trailer will be unveiled this week at the Tokyo Game Show.

To quote: "The latest Famitsu issue officially revealed the sequel to White Knight Chronicles.

Like its prequel, White Knight Chronicles - Awakening of the Light and Darkness will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3."

Wipeout HD Officially Announced for Blu-ray Release on PS3

275w ago - Today SCEE has announced PSN hit Wipeout HD will see a Blu-ray release for the PlayStation 3 console.

The release will include the original game, as well as the recently released Fury expansion, all for £19.99 and released on October 16, 2009.

PS3 Slim Officially Confirmed By Sony's Kaz Hirai for Sept at $299

279w ago - At GamesCom today, Sony's Kaz Hirai has confirmed the PS3 is getting a new model. That's right, the PS3 Slim! It will be available in stores during the first week of September and include the same features and functionality.

A 120GB hard drive is also included, and it will be 33 percent smaller and 36 percent lighter than the original PS3 console.

The cost? It will be 299. That's $299, 299 euros and 29980 yen. That will also be the price for the current PS3 starting tomorrow.

The PS3 Slim (below) looks like the leaked box model rumored from several months ago.

Finally, a release date for the PS3 Slim will vary by region but it will be available everywhere by September 1, 2009.
 

LittleBigPlanet - Game of the Year Edition Officially Announced

XBox 360 is Officially the Only Game Console to Stream Netflix

280w ago - It now appears the XBox 360 is officially the only console to stream Netflix, leaving Sony's PS3 (with the exception of Bravia TVs) and the Nintendo Wii ([Register or Login to view links] notwithstanding) to utilize other services.

At the very bottom of Microsoft's long list of details surrounding today's Xbox LIVE update, it states that the Netflix Watch Instantly integration is now an "exclusive partnership," with Microsoft going so far as to say that the "Xbox 360 will be the only game console to offer this movie-watching experience, available to Xbox LIVE Gold members who are also Netflix unlimited plan subscribers."

To quote: Netflix Partnership - This exclusive partnership offers you the ability to instantly stream movies and TV episodes from Netflix to the television via Xbox 360.
