205w ago - Below is a video from GossipGamers.com (linked above) of what appears to be leaked XBox 360 footage of Half-Life 2 being played on Microsoft's upcoming system Project Natal.
It comes courtesy of nutcrackr via YouTube, as it seems someone secretly leaked out the clip.
This is most likely early footage of the beta testing for a FPS game on the Natal and of course, there is no confirmed source where the video came from so take it as you like.
To quote from the video's caption: "Brief clip of Project Natal for Half-Life 2. Situated in Isaac Kleiner's Lab, it shows some movement and turning with hand gestures and also some interaction with the teleporters.
207w ago - We finally managed to obtain a fully operational Service Mode PlayStation 3 system, so PS3 Dev work is in progress. As it came a few days ago, we have not had too much time to play with it yet, but will soon!
We did some work on one from flurix a while back, but alas, the unit did not function fully. Luckily, this unit we got works perfectly.
For a little background, it is a CECHA00 unit, which makes it a 60gb Japaneese PS3 model, first generation - full of backwards compatability, card readers and WiFi!
It appears to be a returned unit, as it was packed in a CECHE box, and had a false CECHE serial on it. From what we know to date, the first thing that happens when a unit hits Sony is to be reset into PS3 Service Mode via the PS3 USB JIG.
After this, the serial number on the back is scanned. We assume at this point they realized it was false, and sent it back, not repaired. Since it was sent back, it was still, luckily, in Service Mode - letting us obtain of it!
212w ago - Today MCVUK.com (linked above) is reporting that XBox 360 Project Natal launch details have leaked from a Microsoft Tour of UK publishers and studios.
According to the leaked information, the controller-free XBox 360 camera will be released worldwide in November, 2010 with five million units to ship for launch day.
To quote: Microsoft is planning to manufacture 5m units for day one release, with a mix of console and camera plus solus SKUs expected.
The device should cost under £50 when sold solo. One publishing source says Microsoft is "trying to get as close as possible to 'impulse buy'". Another even says the camera could even retail for just £30.
14 games are being readied for launch. This summer Xbox studios boss Phil Spencer told MCV the 360 still 'hasn't peaked'.
"When Natal arrives it will feel like a new generation has come," he said. "I see it like the launch of 360 in November '05. Consumers don't want another $400 box right now."
