Koller: PSP-3000 Battery Life Decreased by 20-30 Minutes

50°
294w ago - Speaking in a recent interview, Sony Computer Entertainment America product marketing manager John Koller revealed that the battery life of the PSP-3000 will be decreased by 20-30 minutes, due to the larger power draw of the brighter screen.

Battery life will decrease by a small amount, it's about 20 minutes maybe 30 minutes and that's because there's a larger power draw with the brighter screen.

Good news is, despite previous reports to the contrary, the PSP extended battery life pack is not being discontinued and will be available to consumers this holiday season, offering 8-10 hours of play time.

Sony: Life with PlayStation Delayed, Launches in August

100°
298w ago - Despite being previously announced for a July debut last month by Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai, SCEA company senior development manager Noam Rimon has revealed that Life with PlayStation will launch in August.

Rimon attributed the unexpected delay to "a few procedural matters." From what was shown to Japanese press, the service will allow PS3 owners to interact with a virtual Google Maps-esque globe presented in 3D, offering convenient access to weather data and news headlines from around the world.

To quote: We'd like to provide a quick update on Life with PlayStation for PLAYSTATION 3. We know many of you are eager to try out the new service for yourself, but you'll have to hold tight. Due to a few procedural matters, the new service will make its way to PlayStation fans in August.

Rest assured, Life with PlayStation will be a service that introduces a new way to interact with your PS3. By bringing information from around the world into your living room, Life with PlayStation will offer a variety of interactive content and channels on a visually stunning worldwide map interface.

We're focused on continuously expanding the world of PS3 through new services and hope to do just that with the upcoming launch of Life with PlayStation.

Wii Homebrew Browser v0.1.1 out, should make life easier

50°
302w ago - Teknecal has released his Homebrew Browser application. This neat little app allows you to grab the latest homebrew applications and games all through your Wii. No longer will you have to take your SD card out to load the files or transfer the files from your computer to the Wii or even use your computer. Once you install a homebrew application and you no longer want it on your SD card, you can delete it as simple as that!

Download: Wii Homebrew Browser v0.1.1

No more dead links, no more extracting files, no more finding out if there is an icon.png and meta.xml in the homebrew application/game!

Note: Not all applications/games are included yet. They will be added over time.

Here is a rather dodgy YouTube video of it in action. Now all we need is an app to install the homebrew browser app....
