219w ago - Today Naughty Dog's Co-President Evan Wells has announced that they will be updating the frequency of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Twitter feeds as a result of too many updates.
To quote: We've seen some concern about the frequency of updates for those choosing to use UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves' Twitter support.
Some reviewers have had early access to the game and selected the option to update their Twitter accounts as they completed each chapter of the game. This has resulted in some Twitter feeds being updated multiple times an hour.
We obviously want to provide the best experience for everybody, so for the time being we've disabled Twitter updates on chapter completions. The option will still exist in the menus when the game ships on 10/13, but if activated, it will do nothing.
Some time after the game has shipped, we'll release a patch to reactivate the feature, but with a limit on the frequency of updates.
We're certainly sorry for any inconvenience, but I guess that's the risk you run when trying to blaze a new trail in the complicated world of Social Media!
And the 140 character version: Heard concerns about Twitter chapter updates for UNCHARTED 2. We've just disabled it but will patch...
220w ago - Today Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared an Uncharted 2 interview with Naughty Dog and news of a special X-Play episode tonight, as follows:
You might remember back at PAX, we sent out a Tweet asking what you'd want to ask Naughty Dog Creative Director Amy Hennig about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Well, we had an overwhelming response to say the least, and in this interview Amy touches on everything from the game's adventure aspects and the power of the PS3 to Cinema Mode/Machinima and crispy veggie bacon. Don't ask, just watch.
And be sure to tune in to G4 tonight at 6:30PM ET/PT for a 30-minute special episode of X-Play that features a behind-the-scenes visit to Naughty Dog.
Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb get the scoop on Uncharted 2's epic single-player campaign, go in-depth on co-op, as well as what it takes to design the game's highly intricate and difficult puzzles.
228w ago - Yesterday Naughty Dog's Sam Thompsonstated in a Comic-Con 2009 interview that the PS3 Firmware 2.80 update adds more memory.
Today, SCEE has clarified these comments explaining that the Naughty Dog rep apparently got confused due to the Comic-Con excitement.
To quote: "There's no secret in firmware 2.80. Naughty Dog were actually talking about their engine 2.0, but in the ComicCon rush they simply got confused and said 2.80 referring to the latest firmware," SCEE told Gamezine.
Additionally, Naughty Dog community manager Arne Meyer has stated the following on NeoGAF forums:
"This was just a typical blunder with all the info and people coming up to us constantly at the PS booth at San Diego ComicCon.
"He was actually referring to Naughty Dog Engine 2.0 updates we made. We had just been making sure at the event that all the PS3s brought in were on FW 2.80, since that is what that build needed to run on, so I have no doubt it was top of mind."
