Team17: Alien Breed Launches PS3 and PS Vita Assault Next Week

50°
98w ago - Team17 Creative Manager Kevin Carthew has announced today that Alien Breed launches a PS3 and PS Vita assault next week.

Below are the details, to quote: Alien Breed, our new survival horror game, is due for release on PS3 and PS Vita on February 12th via PlayStation Store for $9.99, with a 20% launch discount available for PlayStation Plus members!

Last year we celebrated the 21st anniversary of Alien Breed and brought the title to PlayStation Mobile. With the PS3 and PS Vita version we wanted to introduce more cool features, such as the ability for players to team up on either system via cross-platform play.

There is also ad-hoc and online co-op multiplayer for PS Vita, and local and online co-op multiplayer for PS3. We've also got Cross-Platform Continuation Play in the mix too, allowing players to carry on their PS3 save game progress on their PS Vita and vice versa.

Alien Breed is fondly remembered by its fans, especially in the UK where the Special Edition stayed in the "All Formats" charts for over a year. We were really proud of the 2009 version of the game, but a remake of the original game turned out to be a much better fit for the platforms it was appearing on.

Video: Doodle God Launches on PlayStation Vita Today, Trailer Out

100w ago - SPL Game Designer Konstantin Feofanov has posted up a video trailer announcing that Doodle God is launching on PlayStation Vita today.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello to all the happy owners of PS Vita. I'm Konstantin Feofanov, game designer at SPL, the studio behind the popular Doodle God series, which is available on your system from today, priced at £4.79/€5.99.

This project was very interesting for us, since we not only got the opportunity to carefully transfer the gameplay of this funny game, but also to use the best features of PS Vita without making the game overly complicated, but more addictive and friendly to our players.

The essence of the game is simple yet complex. You are a god, standing at the threshold of new discoveries. You have an empty, bare world before you, begging to be filled, and there are indeed lots of things to fill it with.

Starting with ordinary things like marshes and mountains, our new god will uncover the secrets of the human soul, study the tricky concepts of magic and discover the fascinating world of science.

All of it can be completed by combining various elements, like air or fire. There is a twist to it, though: the player starts out on the long road of creation with only four elements, but will end up with...

Video: Sony Announces EscapeVektor Launches on PS Vita Tuesday

101w ago - Nnooo Creative Director Nic Watt has announced today on Sony's blog alongside a video trailer that EscapeVektor launches on the PS Vita handheld console this Tuesday.

Below are the details, to quote: We're happy to bring you information about escapeVektor, a new game coming to PlayStation Vita from Australian independent developer Nnooo.

Vektor is trapped inside your CPU and needs your help to escape! Each node (level) consists of a series of interconnected lines which form cells. These are claimed as Vektor moves along them.

Claiming all of the cells in a node unlocks the exit to the next node, bringing Vektor closer to his escape. Watch out because the CPU sets up obstacles and sends out its army to destroy him.

There are four main abilities to unlock and use in escapeVektor.

Detonate

This ability allows you to destroy enemies which get too close. If you can escape a node without detonating you'll earn a star! Getting stars on all the nodes is going to be tricky.

Boost

Boost allows you to travel much faster than normal for short periods of time.

Super Boost

This is a much faster version of boost which drains boost energy even quicker!!

Uncharted: Fight for Fortune Launches Today on PS Vita

107w ago - Sony Co-Director Chris Reese of Bend Studio has announced that Uncharted: Fight for Fortune launches today on PS Vita.

Below are the details, as follows: Last month I announced Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, an original PS Vita title building on the Uncharted universe, was going to launch exclusively on the PlayStation Store in December. I'm here now to let everyone know that you can download it today!

Uncharted: Fight for Fortune is an action-adventure turn based card game featuring all the heroes and villains that you have met throughout the Uncharted games, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PS Vita, which directly ties into your experience in Fight For Fortune.

The learning curve for card games can be steep, but rest assured we spent a considerable amount of time in the early design of Uncharted: Fight for Fortune to make sure it was going to be easy to learn, engaging and a whole lot of fun to play. You will be playing within minutes of booting up the game.

The first thing you will probably want to do once you launch Uncharted: Fight for Fortune is kick off the Fortune Hunter single player campaign. This campaign features more than eight hours of gameplay that will be spent playing against various characters from Uncharted, and the first couple games will teach you...
