PlayStation 4 / PS4 Vulnerability Detected By SKFU, Exploit Found?

33w ago - Following up on the recent PS4 Factory Service Mode and PS4 Jailbreak rumors, today German PlayStation 4 hacker SKFU Tweeted that an alleged PS4 vulnerability has been detected with hopes that an exploit has been found.

While there currently isn't much more than a single Tweet by SKFU on this rumored PS4 vulnerability, according to him testing is indeed underway. We will update this article if/when new information surfaces, and below is the actual Tweet for those interested:

33w ago - Today some PS4 Jailbreak Files were posted in a Pastebin by Reck entitled PS4 Jailbreaking (with OrbisOS 0day), with details below to quote:

I have been away for a while, so my question to you is; did you miss me? I am aware that ya'll were all thirsty for a cup of a fine Reckz0r release, so here I am... with a fine fckin' glass of a RECKZ0R release, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! (did that sound sarcastic?)

Before I get off started ridiculing Sony, I'd like to pay homage to Sir George Hotz, who looked into the eyes of Sony and made them ejaculate as they bowed down in fear. Very artistic of you, Geohotz.

Sony Offers Insight in PS4 / PlayStation 4 Blinking Blue Light Issues

35w ago - Following up on the PlayStation 4 Bricking Reports, today Sony has offered some insight into the PlayStation 4 Blinking Blue Light issues below.

To quote from Unicorn--Justice via PlayStation Support: Hi, some reports have been coming in from users with PS4 units blinking blue, but not entering the powered on state indicated by a white light as noted in the [Register or Login to view links].

Here are some of the symptoms associated with blinking blue lights issue:

  • blue indicator light blinking
  • no video/audio output to television
  • console powering off after blinking blue

This blinking light issue could indicate any number of causes including but not limited to:

  • TV compatibility
  • Issues with PS4 power supply
  • Issues with PS4 hard drive
  • Issues with other PS4 hardware

PlayStation 4 Bricking Reports, PS4 Launch Errors List and Fixes Out

Astro A50s: Cannot Hear Other People Speaking

Everything appears to be hunky-dory with the Astro A50s, with the sound coming through the headphones just as you would expect, except for received chat audio. You can talk through the headset, but you can't hear others speaking.

A possible fix for this issue is to do the following:

1. Hold Home Button
2. Adjust Devices
3. Output to headphones -> All Audio

DualShock 4 R1 Button Sticking

There are several reports that units of the DualShock 4 appear to sport defective R1 buttons. After just a few hours of play, the R1 button seems to stick.

36w ago - Following up on the previous update, today PlayStation 3 developers Estwald and D_Skywalk have updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.60 followed by a v2.60B bug fix with the changes outlined below.

  • Support functions + Cobra CFW 4.46 Rogero for ISOS
  • Improved the preview icon in Archive Manager (pre-displayed icon in / dev_hdd0/games without going into the folder)
  • Added Quick press START + L2 to enter the Archive Manager, you will now have a more frequent use. If parental control is enabled, only allows non-hazardous use Archive Manager (ISOS mount Cobra mode and so on)
