Video: Open-world Winter Sports Game SNOW is Coming to PS4

5w ago - Poppermost Productions CEO and Game Director Alexander Bergendahl shared a video today announcing that open-world Winter Sports game SNOW is coming to PS4.

Below are the details, to quote: My name is Alexander Bergendahl and I am the CEO and Game Director of Poppermost Productions, an indie studio from Stockholm, Sweden.

Poppermost was formed in 2012 and we have quickly grown from a team of three into a team of 10, thanks largely to the success of our first title, SNOW, on PC. Today, we couldn't be more excited to announce that SNOW will be released as a console exclusive on PS4.

With diverse employee experience in modding, AAA and indie development, Poppermost was formed to create something different.

With SNOW, our goal is to build the world's first free-to-play, open world, winter sports experience - a game that never restricts the player, but instead empowers them to play however they want.

Most of the Poppermost team grew up skiing and snowboarding during winter holidays, so we wanted to create a game that really captured the rush of speeding down the mountain, the tranquility of being in nature, and the creativity of executing tricks in the park and backcountry.

From Sony EU Blog Manager Fred Dutton comes some highlights from their PlayStation announcements at Gamescom 2014, as follows:

I am sure many of you will have tuned into our livestream, but for those who missed it, this evening saw PlayStation's annual Gamescom press briefing take place here in Cologne, Germany. And it was a busy night.

It was so busy, that we even sneaked out a few announcements and reveals before the show itself even began: the first Bloodborne gameplay trailer, and new clips for LittleBigPlanet 3, inFAMOUS First Light, Murasaki Baby and The Order 1886; as well a handful of new game reveals too: Journey, The Unfinished Swan and Hustle Kings on PS4, and The Hungry Horde on PS Vita.

Onto the press briefing proper, and we debuted a huge variety of new titles currently in development for PlayStation platforms, from both our own studios and from our partners.

5w ago - Sony Social Media Senior Manager Sid Shuman shared a new Bloodborne PlayStation 4 gameplay trailer video today straight from Gamescom 2014 below.

To quote: The PlayStation Gamescom press conference is over, but the story is just beginning for Bloodborne - the new PS4-exclusive action-RPG being developed by From Software and SCE Japan Studio. See the latest below.

Just think. This week in Cologne, Germany, thousands of lucky gamers will get a chance to go hands-on with Bloodborne while the rest of us pursue fruitless endeavors like working, sleeping, and bathing.

For now, we'll have to make do with rewatching this video over and over while frantically scanning our RSS feeds for incoming hands-on editorial previews that should begin flowing tomorrow.

Check back here on PlayStation.Blog later this week for more information on the gameplay features being revealed this week at Gamescom. And maybe, just maybe, some hands-on thoughts of our own. See you soon!

Video: New InFamous First Light PlayStation 4 Trailer is Revealed

5w ago - Sucker Punch Productions' Jason Connell revealed a new InFamous First Light PlayStation 4 trailer video today at Gamescom 2014 with details below.

To quote: It feels like I was just on the blog announcing [Register or Login to view links] at E3, a brand new standalone DLC to inFAMOUS Second Son, and I'm happy to be back to talk about all the progress we've made.

We are officially in the final days of the project and it's really exciting to debut our latest trailer at gamescom.

Creatively, this was one of my favorite projects to date. First Light features the origin story of my favorite conduit from Second Son, Abigail "Fetch" Walker.

It's always a challenge to create an origin story, but we found Fetch to be a really engaging character and wanted to explore her past a little more. After being captured by the D.U.P, Fetch is taken to Curdun Cay, a conduit prison up in the snowy mountains, where D.U.P leader Augustine sets out to train her to become a ruthless killer.

The biggest feature we are unveiling at the show is re-playable Battle Arenas with worldwide leader board support....
