42w ago - Game Director Mark Cerny has shared a video today unveiling Knack - a brand new platformer for PlayStation 4 / PS4.
To quote: It was a great pleasure to be able to introduce the title at the PlayStation Meeting in New York. With our new project, Knack, we are really trying to take advantage of everything that the PlayStation 4 supports, from the graphics capabilities of the platform to the physics simulation necessary to handle our very unique hero.
Over the years I've been involved in a number of character-based action titles - Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank - and with the gameplay of Knack, we're trying to focus on the essential fun behind the action/platform gameplay. I'm hoping that we can make something that excites those that played the classic games back in the day, as well as something that attracts new fans to the genre.
I'm sure you saw a lot of things in the trailer and might be wondering what exactly the game is all about.
The Doctor (a not-so-mad scientist) studied ancient relics from a long lost civilization for many years, and finally found a way to bind them together and give them consciousness. The result is Knack, a creature with mysterious powers - for one, he can incorporate more relics into his body as he finds them, which allows him...
42w ago - According to a recently uncovered Sony patent, it appears they are planning to implement a new form of interactive advertising in their next-generation PS4 / PlayStation 4 gaming console.
Below are the details from DualPixels.com (linked above), to quote: "SCEA is going next gen even with advertisements. Discovered just before PS4's imminent announcement, this new Sony patent shows new motion tech which allows you to interact with the advertisement.
This new form of marketing allows users to speed up the time of the ad by collaborating with it to complete virtual food orders; think Burger King.
The patent also seem to have a ton of social inter-connectivity as rumored that PS4 would sport large amounts of integration with the social networking universe. Check it out for yourself."
45w ago - GungHo Online Entertainment Community Coordinator Antonio Cara has shared a video trailer today announcing that ghoulish platformer Dokuro charms on PS Vita this week.
Below are the details, to quote: After enjoying accolades like "Original Game of the Year" and "Best Vita Puzzle Game" in the US, Dokuro finally brings his chalky goodness across the Atlantic Ocean this week. Players in the EU and Australia can finally enjoy Dokuro's 147 levels of puzzles, platforms, spikes and saw blades.
My past blog entries in the States discussed the story and gameplay at great length, so for our European friends I'd like to talk a bit more about development of this winsome title.
For those unfamiliar with the game, its story revolves around Dokuro, a skeletal member of the Dark Lord's army, who makes the career change from peon to hero after witnessing the tears of a captive Princess.
Filled with newfound determination, Dokuro begins his daring rescue. Unfortunately, the Princess doesn't even seem to notice he's there until he quaffs a magical potion that gives him a heroic new appearance and the capacity for fancy sword play.
By swapping forms, players make use of Dokuro's skeleton and hero forms to solve puzzles and battle foes while safely guiding the...

Below are the details, to quote: I hope everyone had good holidays with your friends and families, but it's time to kick-start your gaming new year. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable will be available for $39.99 in North America as a digital PS Vita download when the PSN update goes live later today.
Earth Defense Force 2017 first landed on US soil in 2007. With its addictive and exhilarating bug-squashing gameplay, the Japanese developer Sandlot succeeded in catching the attention of gamers.
Now, thanks to the high performance of PS Vita, we are able to bring the EDF world to the handheld console with many new additions including online co-op and versus modes, new missions, enemies and weapons, and a new playable character in Pale Wing.
The game has a total of 60 missions, including seven new missions. Each mission can be played on five difficulty levels; Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardest, and Inferno. Yes, you're reading this right. "Inferno" is harder than the "hardest"! At first, you might feel "Inferno" is insanely difficult, but don't worry.
The more difficult levels you play, the stronger weapons you'll get. By the time...
