More Ways to Play Knack: PS4 Co-op Mode, Mobile App Detailed

100°
55w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino shared details today on more ways to play Knack, including a PS4 co-op mode and mobile application as outlined below.

To quote: Hello, everyone. We're just a little over a week away from the launch of PS4, and I can't wait for everyone to finally get their hands on Knack.

If you're looking for a taste of something different, something a little more old-school, Knack is the perfect PS4 game for you. With Knack, not only are we taking gamers back to the days of classic games like Crash Bandicoot, we're also introducing some new and unique ways to experience the game.

We have a unique two-player coop mode that puts a fun twist on traditional co-op games and is a great reason to pick up an extra DualShock 4 controller. If you own a PS Vita, there's of course Remote Play, which can even work in conjunction with our two-player co-op.

We have a fun social connectivity feature that lets you unlock collectibles faster through your network of PSN friends, and finally, we have a brand new standalone mobile game app called Knack's Quest. I'm here to talk about all of these today.

Knack's co-op is a little different from some cooperative games you may have played. From the very beginning, Knack was meant to be both a challenging...

56w ago - Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson unveiled a fresh video trailer today showcasing Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus alongside Before the Nexus application details below.

To quote: Hey everyone, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is coming your way in just a short couple of weeks. The game is an epilogue to the Future series, and is available on the PS Store for a price of $29.99 on November 12th. It'll also be available on a Blu-ray disc at retail.

Ratchet is always known for great weapons. To give you a sampling of some of the new and fan-favorite weapons in Into the Nexus, we put together this video showcasing them.

You can select which weapons you want to check out from this "youtube weapon wheel" and then see Ratchet using them in Into the Nexus' Arena level.

In the video, you'll get to see Mr. Zurkon, who upgrades to bring along his family members (who also have all their own dialog). The Classic Ratchet & Clank morph weapon returns as the Winterzier, a weapon that spreads holiday cheer with holiday music and presents, turning enemies into snowmen that vary by enemy.

The game's "spooky" theme plays out with three weapons in the video, including the Nether Beast, Nether...

The Game-Changing Additions to XCOM: Enemy Within Detailed

50°
57w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman detailed some of the game-changing additions to XCOM: Enemy Within below today.

To quote: XCOM: Enemy Unknown was one of 2012′s gaming triumphs; an obsessively playable sci-fi epic that injected new life into the turn-based tactics genre.

As the commander of the counter-extraterrestrial agency XCOM, you faced impossible choices on both a macro and micro level. Send aid to China and risk upsetting Africa? Send a trooper into harm's way to save a high-level comrade, or eat the loss and regroup from a stronger defensive position? XCOM is at its best when the stakes are highest.

With XCOM: Enemy Within, legendary developer Firaxis is expanding on the foundation of the original with tons of new maps, new equipment, new aliens, a mechanized soldier class, and new genemods that can transform your troopers into superhuman killing machines. We caught up with Lead Designer Ananda Gupta to get the inside scoop, and we sent him some of your questions.

BVAidan: Is this a new game or an add on? I'm new to the series and don't know much about XCOM.

Ananda Gupta: It's an expansion to last year's XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and on PS3 you'll be able to get all of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, all the DLC that was released for that game, and...

Since the release of God of War: Ascension last March, we have supported Multiplayer with a vast amount of DLC - from new weapons and maps, to our brutal 1v1 mode, a fan-driven cape contest, new marks, and more. Even the Gods could not have predicted the level of popularity and impassioned connection to our Multiplayer mode driven by the PlayStation Nation.

As of today, we will not be producing any more DLC content (maps, weapons, armors, marks) for God of War: Ascension Multiplayer, as our primary...

Proteus is Coming to PS3 and PS Vita Soon, New Features Detailed

50°
59w ago - Creator Ed Key announced that Proteus is coming to PS3 and PS Vita soon, and has detailed some new features in the game below.

To quote: You drift towards a pastel island where everything sings as you pass. The sky begins to darken and something in the distance catches your eye...

I'm Ed Key, one of the developers of [Register or Login to view links] along with composer David Kanaga. Proteus came out for the PC and Mac in January 2013 and had a fantastic reception from Edge, Eurogamer, IGN and many more.

For something that started out as a weird experimental project between me and David, this was pretty mind-blowing, and it's even crazier to now have the chance to bring it to PS3 and PS Vita with some brand new features that take advantage of Sony's hardware.

Proteus is something like a constantly-remixing ambient album in the form of an immersive island world. It's all about a particular feeling of wandering through nature alone, taking it in and getting pleasantly lost.

Maybe it's a little bit about magic and mortality too. Don't expect tasks and scores and checklists - perhaps Proteus lurks somewhere on the shady fringes of what it means to be a game.

With the PS Vita and PS3 versions, we've been adding new ways to engage with...
