To quote: I just wanted to share our new trailer with you for LORD of ARCANA, which is coming out early next year for PSP. Set in the world of Horodyn, players take on the role of slayers trying to get their hands on the incredible power of Arcana.

Marcan Names PS3 Linux Bootloader on Firmware 3.41 AsbestOS

197w ago - Nintendo Wii developer Marcan has been sharing updates via [Register or Login to view links] on his progress with a PS3 Linux bootloader, one that is currently working on PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 (including on the PS3 Slim) and now named AsbestOS.

Netflix is Streaming its Way to Canada Today on PlayStation 3

198w ago - Public Relations Specialist Ashley Beaulac at Sony Computer Entertainment Canada has revealed that beginning today Netflix is streaming its way to Canadian PlayStation 3 users.

To quote: For those of you who don't know what Netflix is, it's the leading internet movie subscription service, which basically means that all of us Canadians can now watch an unlimited amount of movies and TV episodes for $7.99 a month.

Now your PlayStation 3 is able to stream from Netflix right to your TV, letting you chose from thousands of movie and TV episodes; watch as much as you want, whenever you want.

To get started simply look for the Netflix icon under the video icon in your XMB (cross media bar).

For all our friends in the US and current Netflix members, you'll have to continue using the instant streaming disc for your PS3 system until the Netflix application icon becomes available for you in October.

For all our French speaking friends, Netflix intends to add French language capability over time.

New Mortal Kombat PS3 Scans Leaked from EGM Magazine

209w ago - This weekend ConsolePress.com (linked above) and [Register or Login to view links] have posted up some new scans leaked from the latest Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) Magazine of the upcoming PS3 and XBox 360 Mortal Kombat 2011 title by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

EGM was able to do an extensive interview with the team behind the new title, and according to the developers the game will return to its "2D roots".

The 3D sidestepping has been removed, as the game is once again restricted to a 2D plane of movement. It was also hinted that it will be the fastest game in the series.

In addition, a new Super Meter was added as shown. It can be charged to 3 levels used to either enhance a special move, break a combo or unleash the new devastating attack called "X-Ray Mode".

During this attack, characters engage in a combo that takes around 40% damage (depending on the character) and can also be chained in another combo. During these devastating attacks, the opponent's internal damage is shown with each character has different organ models.
