213w ago - The Associate Producer for Battlefield Gordon Van Dyke has announced today on the PlayStation Blog that the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS3 Beta Begins on November 19, 2009.
To quote: Today we're excited to announce that our forthcoming multiplayer beta is coming exclusively to PS3, so you'll have a chance to experience all the action, destruction and vehicular warfare ahead of our full release in March 2010.
Starting on November 19, the beta will feature the huge 'Arica Harbour' map where up to 24 players compete to secure valuable crates in the 'Rush' game mode as the action moves across a variety of different locations. From an initial vehicle assault on a military outpost the war winds through streets of a deserted town to an intense final fire-fight in an industrial harbour.
227w ago - Update: Courtesy of caliblue15 comes more 'proof' screens on BluerayCenter.com, who is also reporting that apparently it can only be played at certain times (ala Fat Princess).
Today various Web sites, including TheGamerAccess.com (linked above), are reporting that the MAG (Massive Action Game) BETA for PlayStation 3 has begun.
To quote: "I just signed onto the PlayStation Network planning to hop onto Killzone 2, when I noticed something very interesting while viewing my friends list. One of the users on my friends list was playing the MAG Beta.
I will not release any information as to who this person is, but I will tell you that he/she is an employee for Sony. Because he/she works for Sony, this version of the Beta could be available only to a select few industry employees, but this could also mean that the MAG Beta is right around the corner."
That being said, if anyone else can confirm the news feel free to comment below!

250w ago - Penny Arcade has announced that PAX 2009 will take place from September 4th to the 6th at the Convention Center in Seattle, Washington.
Those interested in pre-registering can do so now HERE (or linked above), and exhibitor updates will be detailed as the event draws near. To quote, in part, from the site's F.A.Q.:
What is PAX? PAX is a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers. We call it a festival because in addition to dedicated tournaments and freeplay areas we've got nerdcore concerts, panel discussions, the weekend-long Omegathon event, and an exhibitor hall filled with booths displaying the latest from top game publishers and developers.
Even with all this amazing content the best part of PAX is hanging out with other people who know their stuff when it comes to games.
How much does PAX cost? The three-day pre-registration rate is $50, which is a $5 discount from the at-the-door price. Details and the pre-registration link can be found here. We'll be mailing pre-reg badges the second week of August, so when you register, make sure to think ahead when you enter your mailing address.
