124w ago - Sony Associate Producer Jenny Barbour has shared a developer diary video today announcing that Wonderbook: Book of Spells is coming to PS3 on November 13th, 2012.

To quote: I wanted to give you an update on a project that we are incredibly excited about here at PlayStation: Wonderbook.

Although we only announced it a few months ago, our team at London Studio has been working hard on the technology behind Wonderbook for years.

We recently sat down with the team to create a series of "making of" diaries that give you a closer look at the development of Wonderbook. To kick off these developer diaries, the team focused on the core technology that helped form the foundation of the project.

The first game to use this new technology is the product of our collaboration with [Register or Login to view links], Wonderbook: Book of Spells. By taking PlayStation Move's augmented reality capabilities and pairing them with the Wonderbook peripheral, we were able to create a truly immersive, magical world in which you'll be able to [Register or Login to view links] how to cast many spells including: Incendio, Wingardium Leviosa and Expelliarmus, with your very own spell book and wand.

Video: God of War: Ascension PS3 Panel Highlights from PAX 2012

124w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein is here with some video footage showcasing the God of War: Ascension PS3 panel highlights from PAX 2012 below.

To quote: This past weekend at PAX, I was fortunate enough to moderate a panel with some of the top minds working on God of War: Ascension.

While getting inside the heads of the creators of Kratos' next adventure was a treat, we did a lot more than just talk.

The team brought early sketches of Kratos (dreadlocks!) and the first playable video of the original God of War, before the Blades of Chaos were irrevocably bound to his forearms. We also revealed Ascension's big bads, the Furies, with a close look at Mageara, the "enforcer" of the mythical tio.

While we streamed the panel live, courtesy of [Register or Login to view links], you're forgiven if you missed it last Friday evening. But the excuses are gone now - we've cut down the hour-long panel into an 11-minute highlight reel. Take a look:

Your panelists, from left to right:

• Mark Simon - Lead Designer on God of War: Ascension
• Patrick Murphy - Principal Character Artist for God of War: Ascension
• Marianne Krawczyk - award-winning...

True Blue PS3 Disc BCA Codes Leaked By OxweB, Deemed Useless

1500°
124w ago - Today /GriFFin reports that OxweB has apparently leaked the True Blue PS3 disc BCA codes (although curiously a source wasn't specified), however, they are now conveniently deemed useless as the DRM-infected USB dongle itself.

To quote: When the True Blue dongle first launched last year, it was originally using 'special' blu-ray discs to play games, instead of just DRMencoded eboots on the HDD.

But even after all the Paradox releases, there was a few games that only were available still on 'special' blu-ray discs. Over the course of last year, various groups try to figure out how to copy these discs, as they were sadly pirate stores that wish to sell them to their customers. Finally have much research the BD-Rom marks called 'BCA Codes' were figured out so they could by copied on normal blu-ray burner.

And now an person by the name 'OxweB' has leaked them onto the 'net, as basically they are useless now, but still it is part of sad scene PS3 history!

These are BCA codes off the TB discs (the barcode on the inner part of the disc).

You to can read them off the disc yourself with a scanner or magnifying glass, they are...

UVLoader: Usermode PS Vita Loader is Now Under Development

750°
125w ago - Today PlayStation Vita hacker freddy_156 announced that UVLoader, a usermode PS Vita loader, is now under development and the project is currently seeking the assistance of the community.

To quote from wololo's blog: Sure, running PSP homebrews on Vita is fun, and VHBL is a very nice piece of work, but it's about time we move on, isn't it?

Developer yifanlu started a new project called Usermode Vita Loader (UVLoader), it will be a homebrew loader for the PSV, basically. Not PSP homebrews, but native PSV code, isn't it awesome?

This project is based on a PSV exploit he found (there are no details about this for now, for obvious reasons), but it's still in its early stages. Just a few lines of code have been written so far (you can find the code on his github (github.com/yifanlu/UVLoader)), so, back to the title, developers are needed.

If you're a developer and you want to help, fork the project on github or get in touch with yifanlu on /talk or on IRC (#vitadev on EFnet).

If you're not a developer, there's nothing for you... yet. But it's still an awesome news, isn't it? And please, avoid asking useless questions: there's no release date yet and it doesn't work for now, just be patient for now and let the developers do their job.
