Call of Duty: World at War for PlayStation 3 Savegame Bug Found?

100°
292w ago - Dutch site PS3Life (linked above) is reporting that a savegame bug in Call of Duty: World at War has been found which can leave your savegame unreadable and corrupt. The bug is only said to happen in the single player campaign, and occurs in the levels where you play as a Russian soldier.

To quote, roughly translated: Call of Duty: World at War is without doubt the most played PS3 game this year-end, though many people readily admit that they left full singleplayer miss.

Fortunately, because now we get more and more reports of a bug in the singleplayer campaign, which in charge of your save game gives an error message that says you savegame unreadable, and you then again at the start of the current set of levels set.

This bug occurs in the levels where you play with the Russian soldier, NOT in the first levels with the American soldier!

PS3life would ever know how many gamers who played the singleplayer here affected by this. Have you bought the game, and does this happen to you? Comment below!

Braid on PlayStation 3 Depends on Sony Interest Level

50°
292w ago - Developer Jonathon Blow has implied that there is a possibility of Braid making its way to the PlayStation 3 console.

He commented, that it certainly is a posibility but depends on whether Sony is interested in bringing it over to their platform.

To quote: First off, developer Jonathon Blow lets us know that the PC version of Braid should be available between February and March next year. This is to let the game have some space and avoid the crowded Christmas market.

Secondly, he's in talks to develop a native-Mac version of the game, so you Apple folks won't be left out.

Finally, although there are no plans for other platform releases in the near future, a later PlayStation 3 version is possible. Jonathon Blow comments;

"[As] I've mentioned before, a PS3 version a little later on remains a possibility (though again, this depends on whether Sony is interested in the game)."

Company Says Sony PlayStation 3 to Support 3D Gaming in 2009

400°
292w ago - The president of a 3D certification and advocacy group has revealed that Sony fully intends to support 3D gaming and Blu-ray 3D on the PlayStation 3 in 2009.

It will need a BIOS upgrade to work, and it is speculated that 3D gaming may be unique to the PS3 out of all other gaming consoles.

To quote: According to Neil Schneider, President and CEO of Meant to be Seen (MTBS), Blitz Games Studios has confirmed that Sony "fully intends" to support stereoscopic 3D gaming and Blu-ray 3D on PS3 in 2009 with their Blitz Tech engine. MTBS is a stereoscopic 3D certification and advocacy group.

Andrew Oliver, CTO of Blitz Games Studios says, "3D gaming on console is coming and we license the tech."

"The best part is console support will only need a bios upgrade to work," Schneider writes. "We are told that the ability to add this capability via bios may be unique to Sony PS3 versus the other console solutions."

Stereoscopic 3D is the ability to display visible depth through two dimensional media. According to MTBS, stereoscopic 3D has proven to be successful in cinema with movies like Beowulf, U23D, and Hannah Montana, earning 2:1 and 3:1 revenue compared to traditional 2D theaters.
