New Details from Famitsu on Wii's Disaster: Day of Crisis

50°
326w ago - The game has been a long time in coming since it was announced prior to the Wii's launch at E3 2006. In fact, when the hammer fell on Project H.A.M.M.E.R., some feared the worst for what some consider to be an endangered species these days: A new IP from Nintendo (with Monolith Soft, of course).

But every now and then, something drops to let us know that the game is still alive, and this time, it's a glimpse at the title from Famitsu, who reports that the game is due in the Land of the Rising Sun come July, when the sun is at its rising-est, and for the US and Europe? Just "2008." Gee, thanks. Maybe it'll be here in time to get swept up in the holiday frenzy.

Details are that you still play as Ray, who lost his friend and co-worker Steve about a year ago, and the story centers on Ray finding Steve's sister, Lisa, who has been kidnapped. This effort is complicated by a series of natural disasters striking, such as hurricanes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. Oh, and there's also a terrorist plot to set off a nuclear bomb. Perfect timing.

Gameplay works in a traditional manner-- well, as traditional as the Wii gets without plugging in a GameCube or Classic controller-- by using the Nunchuk's analog stick to move around, while the Wii Remote pointer aims whatever weapon you've got ol' Ray equipped with,...

First story details of Nanashi no Geemu

50°
327w ago - Last week Square Enix has announced a new horror game for the Nintendo DS. Until now we only saw a couple of screenshots, but knew nothing about the story besides the fact it is similar to The Ring.

That's about to change as the first story details were translated from the game's official Web site.

Study of traverse region information:

It is my theory that, in addition to other media such as traditional culture, visual media, and audio media, the human psyche is also a form of media.

According to this theory, both the electrical signals used in the transfer of information in other media, and the active potential emitted by the cells of the human nervous system are equivalent, and that the mutual transfer of information without a physical connection, as in for example a wireless LAN, is also possible.

A first look at MotorStorm 2: Details and Info!

50°
327w ago - We have new MotorStorm 2 information which is featured in the latest Playstation World Magazine in the UK. MotorStorm 2 is going to be bigger than a sequel to the first muddy racing game; in fact MotorStorm 2 is that big it has its very own island and 16 tracks to race around on!

MotorStorm 2's island is a tropical paradise that allows players to race on several different tracks including jungles, beaches and swamps. The location of the island is in South Pacific and features a volcano - maybe we can expect some volcanic action while racing or something along those lines.

Below is a picture of the island thanks to PlayStation World Magazine.. So now that we know the MotorStorm 2 world is a South Pacific island, what sort of tracks can we expect?

Well looking at the map we can expect beach races, swamps, high mountain encounters and hopefully some snow as you can see there is snow on and around the volcano in the north side of the island.

Obviously MotorStorm 2 offers a variety of environments to race on compared to the desert environments from the first game. The new tracks will feature more multiple ways to find the finish line. This should add a hell of a lot more fun and last appeal.

Apparently water will play a key moment in the game allowing you to cool your...

MGS4 rated and detailed by BBFC

50°
327w ago - The BBFC have cleared Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for release in the UK, giving it a 15 rating. They cited that the game contains "strong violence," and went on to describe other details of the game, and why it got the 15 rating.

If you are sensitive to spoilers you might want to skip the following paragraphs.

In MGS4 "the player takes on the role of an aging soldier, Snake who can be armed with knives, guns and grenades," comments the BBFC. "During battles enemy soldiers die with small puffs of blood.

The weaponry includes petrol bombs, however there is no detailed portrayal of injuries. During cut scenes slightly more detailed violence is portrayed, such as enemy creatures spearing friendly soldiers and one protracted fist fight."

The go on "Violence may be strong but may not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. It is possible for the player to progress stealthily through the game, avoiding violent confrontations where possible. The game also features one use of strong language and references to suicide and an implied child rape."

MGS4 is set to be release worldwide on June 12th.

328w ago - The Internet was abuzz yesterday when it was discovered the Spore Creature Creator will be included with The SimCity Box, an upcoming compilation of SimCity games that's due out in June. The Creature Creator will let you get a head start on creating your unique alien species for Spore, which is the next game from Will Wright, creator of The Sims and SimCity.

Spore has been hotly-awaited for years now, but its release is finally going to happen later this year. To find out more about the Creature Creator, we caught up with Patrick Buechner, Vice President of Marketing at Maxis.

IGN: So can you confirm the Spore Creature Creator will be in the SimCity Box when it ships in June?

Patrick Buechner: A trial version of the Spore Creature creator will be available for free through a variety of sources including as a download from Spore.com and in The SimCity Box. There will also be a version of the Creature Creator available at retail. The free Creature Creator has about 25-percent of the creature making parts from Spore. The retail version will have 100-percent. It's up to the players to choose which version they want, but they'll all be available at approximately the same time.

IGN: What's going to be in the Creature Creator? Just the creature creation portion and the "test drive"?...
