281w ago - Bluepoint Games President Andy O'Neil was pleased to reveal today that Blast Factor for PlayStation 3 will offer PS3 trophies as of this Thursday.

To quote: Hey All! We€ve had a lot of email over the last few months asking about Trophies for Blast Factor, so I€m very pleased to announce that a new updated version of Blast Factor with that sweet Trophy goodness will be winging its way to your PS3 this Thursday!

We€ve had a lot of fun putting the Trophy challenges together, and we reckon that we€ve got a good selection for Blast Factor fans of all abilities. Watch out though, there are a couple that are going to be a challenge to even the most hardcore of Blast Factor players!

We€ve added 25 Trophies in total across the original game and the 2 expansion packs, with around 15 Trophies in Blast Factor: Basic Research and its 90+ levels, and 10 Trophies split between the Multiplayer expansion and Advanced Research with its addition of 80+ levels and Hybrid mode.

We€ve also added rumble support for the DualShock 3 Controller for that extra tactile goodness. All existing versions of Blast Factor will get automatically patched when you start the game, so you won€t even need to download the new version from the store.

And yes, this update is FREE! So...

LittleBigPlanet Game Room to Follow PlayStation Home Launch?

50°
281w ago - Here is a rough translation from the PS3Clan site linked above:

A very reliable source has reported that with the launch of PlayStation Home or shortly afterwards a very special LittleBigPlanet Game Room will come.

In this room will enable you to promote levels and users can direct you in Home loading level to play. Furthermore, the room also contains a themed LittleBigPlanet Sackboy as a central figure.

I also have some more LittleBigPlanet information:

First, I have done some stats for you.

- Created community levels = 177657
- Data # Reactions at community levels = 1093491
- Number of times the story levels are played online = 36661881
- Number of times that are played online community levels = 22463892
- Total online levels played # = 59125403

Media Molecule congratulated PS3Clan for this achievement, knowing that only a small team this beautiful of a game has made, which clearly marks to the stats.

PS: Check the PlayStation store around Christmas time!

Analyst: Gears Of War 3 is Likely to Come Out on PlayStation 3

100°
281w ago - In the gaming world exclusivities have become all but obsolete. So it should come as little surprise that analysts are stating the future of Epic€s gaming giant, Gears of War, will be bright on all fronts of the console war.

Analyst Michael Pachter, who is well known throughout the gaming industry for his insight to the future of gaming, has stated €we pretty much know that Gears of War 3 is probably gonna come out on PS3.€

Pachter is going off the idea that things today aren€t exactly exclusive, they€re only set aside for a set amount of time. If this holds true, PS3 gamers will get a chance to see just how much they€ve been missing.

As gamers of all three major systems, we welcome multiplatform any day. The console war is getting down to the point of €who€s system has the better technology€, and steering clear of €who has the better games€.

Either way this one ends up, Gears of War has cemented it€s place in the hearts of gamers everywhere. Regardless of which system this ends up on in the future, it€s sure to have one heck of an outcome and a very profitable future.

Can Sony Maintain PlayStation 3's Momentum in 2009?

50°
281w ago - If we look back on 2008 and start ticking off the top names of 2009, one will want to assume that the PlayStation 3 has the momentum.

Not only does it have the obvious exclusive edge over Microsoft's Xbox 360, but it has several other factors going for it.

It's $200 cheaper than it was upon launch two years ago, the launch of the PlayStation Home open beta is scheduled for this month, Blu-Ray has won the HD movie war (and it's certainly the more preferable software format for games), the PlayStation Network and Store have taken gigantic strides, the machine is far more reliable than the 360, and yes, as we just said, the exclusives have really been impressive.

We saw Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Resistance 2, Wipeout HD, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Valkyria Chronicles, and LittleBigPlanet this year and we can expect Killzone 2, God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, the recently unveiled Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Heavy Rain in 2009, along with Final Fantasy Versus XIII at some point.

Sales are up, Network subscriptions are up, and finally, most third-party developers have gotten over their initial PS3 hang-ups that saw many poor 360-to-PS3 ports. Hence, we'd like to clearly conclude that the PS3 has snagged the momentum away from the competition at this...
