The Challenges of PlayStation 3 Development

100°
288w ago - These are my personal views about how the PS3 has got into the current struggling position.

The number one problem that PS3 faced was the PS2. This was an excellent console, and it required a drastic approach to come up with something with a noticeable difference.

The number two problem is that Sony does always want to bring about change, though I am not sure if "Yes we can" is always applicable.

The PS3 is meant to change how we manage our living rooms and unfortunately these good ideas come at a price point which is not suiting the majority.

Thirdly, the rivals have played their parts, but I see Xbox 360 as mostly working for PS3, because PS3 has been able to make all these adjustments in a hurry to come up with something even more powerful.

In fact, we are the beneficiaries even though we are the most likely to find Xbox ranting annoying. What are your thoughts?

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix for PS3 Heading to PlayStation Network

50°
288w ago - D3Publisher has confirmed to Eurogamer that Puzzle Quest: Galactrix will be released on PlayStation 3 as well as Xbox Live Arcade, PC and DS.

To quote: The Web site hosting the [Register or Login to view links] released earlier this week carries the PS3 logo, but up to now the publisher, and developer Infinite Interactive, have only referred to the other formats.

"Puzzle Quest Galactrix will be available on PSN and Xbox Live in additional to PC and DS," a spokesperson told Eurogamer when we asked about the discrepancy.

Galactrix - the sequel to the excellent Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - is a turn-based match-3 puzzler using a hexagonal grid, where players try to explode mines and collect gems to fire off weapons at their opponent.

These face-offs form part of a broader RPG-style saga, complete with a levelling system, side quests, tons of text boxes full of swashbuckling space pirate dialogue and a dinky spaceship to guide between locations on the map screen.

Puzzle Quest Galactrix is currently due for release in March.

Little Delay To LittleBigPlanet Content for PlayStation Network

100°
288w ago - SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor announced the following LittleBigPlanet DLC update today as follows:

We know you guys have been looking forward to the next batch of downloadable content which was due to launch this Thursday, January 22.

Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to release what we had planned at this time, so the wait is going to be just a little longer before the new year's content updates start to arrive.

In order to make up for this disappointment, we thought you might like to see all the new content we've got lined up to come out between next week and the end of February, so hold on to your hats as there's quite a bit!

Seasonal Content
To get the new year started in the right way we've got matching Sackboy and Sackgirl Chinese New Year outfits which will be available for free next week to help you celebrate the year of the Ox. At the same time you can also dress up as the world famous Groundhog in a bid to predict the length of winter.

When February rolls around you'll have no excuse for forgetting to buy a card as we release a special Valentine's Day pack containing 12 stickers and some themed costume pieces for your Sackperson. Each of these downloads will be available for a limited time, so grab them...
