270w ago - So I make no secret of the fact I LOVE Bioshock. It was my game of the year last year by a long way. Yeah COD4 was a great game and I am still playing that. Halo Jesus really was not the game it should of been - please don't flame me it's just my opinion and Mass Effect had too many little issues. So Bioshock really stood out for me.
So it was with great delight that I found out it was coming to my shiny black paperweight. The trouble is, would it play well on the PS3?
Well the demo hit the PSN (all regions thanks you 2k/Sony!) and I downloaded it as soon as I got home. It took a little under and hour to drop down the 1.8GB demo (holy crap demos are getting bigger !) and around ten minutes to install (go figure!).
It was with real trepidation that I launched the game and waited for the menu to roll up. First thing you notice is just how many teams worked on this game! 2K Boston, 2K Australia, Digital Extremes etc - That never sounds good!
I hit the menu, choose my game type and launch the game. The intro sequence plays out and looks just as good at the 360 version, perhaps a little higher res and cleaner. The plane ditches (spoiler!) and you struggle tot he surface - here we go, lets see if it starts to chug - No, one of my favorite parts of the game graphically looks just...
270w ago - Who says $500 is too much to spend on a gaming system? Certainly not the game and Blu-ray shoppers at Amazon.com.
Roughly 24 hours after appearing for pre-order at Amazon, the new Sony Playstation 3 160GB Bundle with Drake's Fortune, a DualShock controller and voucher for PAIN from the Playstation Network has made waves on the movers and shakers charts.
As of Saturday morning, the bundle had climbed 441% from the 157th bestsellers spot to the 29th spot over the past 24 hours.
That's not bad for a bundle we had made fun of not too long ago. Of course, we still stand pat on our belief a fused bundle with games and Blu-ray will really move some hardware this holiday season. And we're not just saying that because our site is built upon a foundation of combined games and movie coverage.
For now, we'll keep our eye on this Drake's Fortune bundle and see if it can continue to climb the charts.

270w ago - The PS3 has mandatory game HDD installs. No surprises there right? Since the beginning of the console gamers have complained that the PS3 has forced them to abandon the former gamer ritual and buy, unpack and play, adding the additional and sometimes painful step of WAIT between savage unpack (ripping off shrinkwrap is always fun) and the satisfying play.
Some installs have hardly taken any time, while others (Devil May Cry 4) feel like an eternity of wait time which creates the sensation of smelling a fresh baked batch of cookie chip cookies (or insert your favorite kind of cookie) that still has time left in the oven.
The install can be fixed redeemed however. The beauty of it is that the solution has been staring us gamers in the face since day 1 as well. The solution? PSN. I know, I know, you're wondering how that makes any sense, so without further adieu, here it is.
Place the install data on PSN.
It's so simple that it's brilliant at the same time. If Sony were to place the install data on PSN a week before any game were released, anyone that planned to purchase the game could download the data and install the files prior to owning the game.
The benefit to gamers is obvious, removing the delay from unpack to play. The benefit to Sony and...
