269w ago - Home should not be shown at trade shows. Absolutely not. Not under any circumstances. Why? Because it is boring. Home is not a game. It's not even a user interface. It's a... thing.
Once Sony get around to deciding what that actually is will probably be the time they decide to release it, but until then - and especially in the state it was in for my TGS demonstration - it should be kept as far from prying eyes (and hands) as possible.
TGS is a games show. It's for games. Loud, exciting, playable things. But Home? So not a game. The build I was treated to yesterday went a little like this: I log on as "Ricky". Who was a girl, but hey, who am I to question someone else's naming conventions. Then I move around a bit. And I find, about three seconds into the experience, that I'm running around a near-perfect recreation of Sony's TGS booth.
Great! I think. Yeah, I'm already at TGS, and can play all these demos, but wouldn't it be awesome if people at home could be doing this, and seeing the trailers I'm seeing, and playing the demos I'm playing? It would. But in this build? No way. Not a single demo pod was active. Not a single booth was running a trailer. The main Sony theater screen (the in-Home one) was showing a short, looped trailer, but it wasn't the same stuff I could see with my real eyes...
269w ago - The New York Rangers has had its best start to a season since the 1989-90 season, and it appears practicing with the team via NHL '09 is partly to thank.
Players Brandon Dubinsky, Nikolai Zherdev, and Aaron Voros found that putting each other in the same line worked well in the NHL video game and in real life too. They have dubbed the tactic the "PlayStation Line".
To quote: With a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, the Rangers have started 3-0 for the first time since the 1989-90 season.
But more then the team's record that is creating a buzz among Rangers fans.
Three players–Brandon Dubinsky, 22, Nikolai Zherdev, 23, and Aaron Voros, 27–played a game for the ages. Dubinsky had a goal and two assists, Zherdev had a goal and an assist, and Voros had a goal and as assist.
Not only were they playing great offensively, but all were getting involved physically, and used solid defensive play to transition to offense. It's the kind of energetic, youthful effort that Ranger fans have been wanting for a very long time.
The name "PlayStation Line" is starting to catch on. This started when Dubinsky invited Voros over to play PlayStation. They started playing NHL and Aaron told Brandon to put them on the same line. Next day in practice,...

269w ago - Per John Diamonon (Capcom) via PS Blog:
I'm glad to be back here with the PlayStation Posse and talk about a game that I'm looking forward to - Age of Booty. No, it's not an online dating game.
It's a casual, pirate-themed, online strategy game from some of the makers of Halo.
Actually, I consider this more of a multiplayer party game because it's really easy to play and allows for a lot of smack talk. Yarrr!
Here are more details:
• Release date: Soon (I'll confirm when I get a solid date)
• Price: Only $9.99!
• Trophies: No comment at this time.
• Add on content: Lots of free map packs in the future plus some cool expansions.
• Players: Up to 8 players online - You can play a 4 player local match then take the team online!
• Demo:Available a couple weeks after launch with online multiplayer matches!
Max Hoberman, one of the founders of the company that developed the game, has been kind enough to write this message to you, the PlayStation fans, and answer some of your questions (This is his time, so I probably won't answer your Capcom related questions for a couple days). Anyway, heeeeeeere's Max!
