Rumor: Assassin's Creed 2 Details Uncovered for PlayStation 3

550°
282w ago - A JoyStiq (linked above) tipster claims to have been shown very early footage of the next Assassin's Creed. It apparently looked similar to the first game, though set around the 15th century - a few hundred years later.

After the footage played, there was a Q&A session where it was revealed the story would incorporate a family feud and disguises would play a part in the game.

To quote: The focus testers were asked to decide on their favorite of three character designs. Each image had different colored costumes and varying numbers of pouches or bags for the main character, though the overall design was the same: Similar to Altair's, but more colorful and fitting for the time period. Under each image was the word "ezio," an Italian name derived from the word for "eagle." Fitting, for the series.

Our tipster also told us that he saw the protagonist swimming during the video - something we've heard that Altair might've learnt since the first game - and that he can "use gunpowder to propel items at people."

The people conducting the focus test indicated that we might be seeing more of the game at E3 and that it will be in our hands late this year or early next. Of course, we've no way of confirming whether any of this is true, but it all sounds fairly plausable.

LittleBigPlanet is Coming to Sony's PlayStation Portable Console

500°
282w ago - As first announced earlier today, Media Molecule confirmed the long speculated rumors that the adorable SackBoy will be making his way onto the PlayStation Portable sometime this Fall.

Over the last several months and shortly before release of the PlayStation 3 version, there was an enormous amount of belief that these rumors were true, and finally they've come to fruition.

Sony declared that LittleBigPlanet will hit the PSP while offering new levels and the ability to play, create, and share with users much like its PS3 counterpart. It wasn't disclosed if cross-platform functionality would be included, but who are we kidding, it would be a no brainer.

If the PlayStation 3's DLC wasn't draining your wallets enough as is, we're sure the company has more content planned on the way for its Mini-SackBoy as well.

Bethesda: No Plans for any Fallout 3 DLC for the PlayStation 3

282w ago - Recently TheBitBag received a few emails asking if Bethesda will release any DLC for Fallout 3 on the PlayStation 3. To quote:

I can't believe I didn't ask Pete this question when I [Register or Login to view links] him. I did what any journalist would do... I sent him an email.

Pete's response was quick and straight to the jugular:

Fallout 3 DLC is for Xbox 360 and PC.

Now in yesterday's interview, Pete told me that they always planned on releasing DLC. So it's not like Microsoft came in and asked them to create it like they did with Rockstar.

Maybe Microsoft just liked what they were doing and bought the exclusive rights across the board. This means that any DLC released for Fallout 3 will always be 360/PC exclusive.

282w ago - Earlier [Register or Login to view links], a buzz was being made about "PlayStation palmar hidradenitis" after a girl developed painful red lumps on her hands after playing PlayStation for a number of hours per day.

Sony has responded to the matter by indicating there are possible consequences if gamers do not follow common sense and the guidelines.

To quote: Sony has issued a statement following an earlier report linking use of its PlayStation console to a skin disorder.

Earlier today the British Journal of Dermatology released a report in which it named a skin disorder "PlayStation palmar hidradenitis" after researchers at Geneva University Hospital in Switzerland studied an afflicted 12-year-old girl.

She had developed painful red lumps on the palms of her hands after using her PlayStation for several hours a day before symptoms first appeared.

Sony has stated that it will study the findings, but points out that this is the first time it has heard a complaint of this nature.

"We firmly believe that video gaming is a legitimate entertainment pastime like watching movies, listening to music, or reading books," reads the statement.

"As with any leisure pursuit there are possible consequences of not following...
