Fallout 3 Patch Causing Saved Game Problems for PlayStation 3

50°
275w ago - Although the Fallout 3 1.10 patch fixes a larger number of bugs and glitches, reports have been coming into us from gamers (as well as the official forums) that it's also introduced some new problems, most commonly on the PS3 console.

After applying the patch, some players' saved games have been reported to be missing items - including but not limited to keys for important locations, on random occasions. Furthermore, some gamers have noticed that the game has an increased chance of freezing after loading an area.

There also appears to be some problems with using old save files on the PS3 from before the patch on very rare occasions, In some rare instances, the old save files will not allow the player to save nor auto-save, because the start screen has the "Save" option darkened after the patch is applied, making it impossible to save with the old save files.

Thankfully, this only seem to occur with saved files before the patch, and infrequently. So far, there is no known fix other than deleting the patch from the "Game Data Utility" and starting the game without installing the patch.

We'll inform you if/when when a proper fix becomes available!

Sony Giving Away Money in PlayStation Home

100°
275w ago - If you're in one of the regions supported by Sony Computer Entertainment Asia you can get $10 HKD for free if you track down the money god avatar.

$10 HKD isn't much, it's like $1.30 US, but it's interesting to see Sony run such a promotion. Sure, it's not enough to buy a PlayStation Network game, but you can get a virtual item by finding the money god. Or you can save your money and hope Sony Computer Entertainment Asia runs more of these so you can get a free game.

No word if Sony is going to try this strategy in other regions of if this is only a Sony Computer Entertainment Asia strategy.

The box for this month's "Skate 2" indicates that it requires 2182 MB. So free some hard drive space if, like me, you're running out of room.
