PS Vita Hacker SKFU Confirms PlayStation Vita PKG AES Key Changed

1300°
137w ago - Following up on the PS Vita 1.50 Firmware announcement comes news this weekend from PlayStation Vita hacker SKFU who has confirmed the PS Vita PKG AES Key has changed.

To quote from his blog: I just got my tried to unpack the [Register or Login to view links] for PS VITA and sadly I have to say that the AES key for PKG encryption and decryption changed.

The PKG's I used for my testings were pretty old and the key update was expected. Nevertheless it's a bit disappointing but a new nice challange

The PS3 can decrypt the new packages on firmware 4.00 which contains the new PS VITA PKG AES key for the PS3 <--> PS VITA content exchange feature. This means we can decrypt and get the content of the PS VITA PKG files via a 4.00 PS3. Sadly there's no solution to re-encrypt it again, yet.

Let the games begin! (again...)

Video: Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Coming to PS3 and PS Vita

300°
138w ago - BBC Worldwide Executive Producer Simon Harris has announced today that Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock is coming to PS3 and PS Vita with a video trailer available below.

To quote: Developing anything for Doctor Who has to be done right. The show has such a following that we need to be certain that everything the game does fits with the expectations of the fans.

So far, we've said very, very little about the game. This trailer just has the barest hints about the core of this story. What is The Eternity Clock? How is it related to the Doctor? How is River involved in this?

I'm afraid this post isn't going to answer any of these questions; we'll leave that to future posts and the game itself.

We're very excited to be working with Supermassive Games as they've already delivered some great titles for PlayStation, such as Tumble, Start The Party and Start The Party: Save the World. The team are huge fans of the show and they've been great at bringing the key essence of Doctor Who into the game.

Working on PlayStation Vita, as well as PS3, is a real privilege and its unique set of features has allowed our designers to cut loose and we'll tell you a lot more detail about how we're...

200°
140w ago - Zipper Interactive President Brian Soderberg has confirmed today that Unit 13 is set to deploy as a PlayStation Vita launch title with details below, as follows:

On behalf of the entire team at Zipper Interactive, I am proud to announce a new shooter, Unit 13, designed from the ground up for the new PlayStation Vita.

It's been very exciting developing a game for the first portable console with precision dual analog sticks, the perfect platform for a fast action, hard-hitting, third-person shooter like Unit 13. In addition, Vita's front and back touch interface provided a unique and fun way to interact quickly with in-the-world elements of the game.

Fast action, on-the-go gameplay was a key goal for the Unit 13 team. The game is designed for players to move quickly into the action, choosing from one of six Operatives with unique abilities to tackle 36 action-packed missions across nine unique locales. Missions come in a variety of sizes and difficulty.

Some are smaller bite-sized battles; others are longer, more challenging, multi-objective missions that are a good test for any skilled shooter fan. As you make your way through the variety of missions, you unlock the right to take on the tougher High Value Target (HVT) enemy battles. After completing an HVT mission, you can...
