114w ago - Crytek UK Senior Designer Alex Hood has shared some new PS3 video trailer footage below of Crysis, which assaults PSN today with 3D support!
To quote: It is very exciting for me to be able to say that the original Crysis is coming to the PS3! Some of you may be wondering how we are going to bring the large open environments that Crysis is known for to console.
The expansive jungle sections, the pure white sand beaches, the open vehicle levels... maybe you're shaking your head that it cannot be done. I'm here to tell you that we've accomplished this and you will be able to experience the remastered, single-player campaign for Crysis on October 4th in North America and October 5th in Europe.
So how did we do it? As Egg Shen said, it wasn't easy! Without the power of the CryENGINE 3, we would never have attempted it, but with fully deferred lighting, a PS3-specific rendering pipeline and SPU-enhanced physics code, together with more efficient memory layouts and more intelligent algorithms, we brought the experience of Crysis to consoles without compromise.
With that said, we didn't just want to port the game straight onto console; we wanted to make sure we tailored the experience to suit it. We've brought the Crysis 2 Nanosuit...
132w ago - SCEA Senior Producer Harvard Bonin has posted up a Starhawk PS3 Multiplayer video today for fans spotlighting CTF (Capture The Flag) in the Acid Sea.
To quote: Lots of you are wondering how Build & Battle fits in with the Warhawk recipe of "frenetic epic firefights," so today we wanted to give you a taste of what we will have playable at E3 next week!
This is a video of an actual multiplayer tournament we had recently at the LightBox studio.
As you know Starhawk also has a cool single-player campaign that will immerse you in the story of our main character, Emmett Graves, but as you can see we have not forgotten about our multiplayer roots!
We've designed Starhawk's multiplayer to be just as much fun as Warhawk's, but now with our new Build & Battle toy box, you shooter fans will have something you haven't truly experienced before - the ability to change the battlefield on the fly. We'll have more details on Starhawk's multiplayer soon, but for now we invite you to come visit us at E3!
Thanks a ton for the amazing reactions to Starhawk thus far. I can honestly say that we've only scratched the surface so look out for more info in the months ahead.
139w ago - Zen Studios Managing Director Zsolt Kigyossy has unveiled a video today showcasing the new Sorcerer's Lair Table for ZEN Pinball on PSN.
To quote: Today we are unveiling Sorcerer's Lair, a brand new ZEN Pinball table! It has been awhile since our last blog post, but we hope you have been enjoying Marvel Pinball and keeping your skills sharp on other ZEN Pinball tables.
All eight of our studio pinball teams have been hard at work over the past few months developing new tables.
Set in an ancient Citadel that is controlled by an evil Sorcerer, you play as a brother and sister pair who find themselves caught in the Sorcerer's spells and traps.
It is up to you and your ghost sidekick, Whisper, to take down skeletons, spiders and ghosts as you try to defeat the Sorcerer and restore peace to the Citadel.
This fantasy themed table is full of hidden modes and secret unlocks, so it will take some time to really discover the intricacies of Sorcerer's Lair.
As you have come to expect from every ZEN Pinball table, there is no shortage of interactive 3D objects, multiple modes of play, secret unlocks, online multiplayer competition...
156w ago - Today Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has shared a Resistance 3 PS3 Director's Cut VGA trailer with fans.
To quote: While Insomniac is off for the holiday break, we did want to stop by with the Director's Cut of our VGA trailer.
The trailer originally called for three scenes, each showing a different aspect of the game, and the initial sequence was meant to tie it to the GamesCom trailer. Alas, live television demanded a two-minute run-time, and we wanted to give you as much gameplay as possible, so some of the live action hit the cutting room floor.
This restored Director's Cut features a lot of the extra live-action that Prologue shot - including a dark warehouse scene at the beginning. Each of the live action moments does represent a section of the game, despite the only gameplay footage occurring during the boat.
Check out the Director's cut below:
We hope you also got a chance to see the new screenshots we released with the VGAs. We feel like they are some of the best screens we've ever taken.
We're off for the holidays as a company, but we did drum up a few blog posts, and...
