Video: Crysis Assaults PSN Today with 3D Support, Launch Trailer

400°
147w ago - Crytek UK Senior Designer Alex Hood has shared some new PS3 video trailer footage below of Crysis, which assaults PSN today with 3D support!

To quote: It is very exciting for me to be able to say that the original Crysis is coming to the PS3! Some of you may be wondering how we are going to bring the large open environments that Crysis is known for to console.

The expansive jungle sections, the pure white sand beaches, the open vehicle levels... maybe you're shaking your head that it cannot be done. I'm here to tell you that we've accomplished this and you will be able to experience the remastered, single-player campaign for Crysis on October 4th in North America and October 5th in Europe.

So how did we do it? As Egg Shen said, it wasn't easy! Without the power of the CryENGINE 3, we would never have attempted it, but with fully deferred lighting, a PS3-specific rendering pipeline and SPU-enhanced physics code, together with more efficient memory layouts and more intelligent algorithms, we brought the experience of Crysis to consoles without compromise.

With that said, we didn't just want to port the game straight onto console; we wanted to make sure we tailored the experience to suit it. We've brought the Crysis 2 Nanosuit...

To quote: Hi all, I'm releasing Eskiss with Move support and I think the instructions on how to use it require a bit more than what twitter allows (from my usual small updates).

You can download here the Eskiss package for PS3 3.55, and here the package for PS3 3.41.

The instructions are simple, you can still play with a normal mouse if you want, or use the controller to emulate the mouse, just like before. But, if you have a PS Eye camera plugged in, then it will also be ready to handle the Move.

If it detects a move controller, the ball on the controller will be white, at that point, you must press the Action button while pointing the controller to the camera (there's no image feedback on the screen, so just point and press the action button). This will calibrate the controller and...

JFW DH PS3 CFW Delay, Custom Firmware to Support 3.7+ Games

1500°
148w ago - Today Spanish PlayStation 3 developer DemonHades has announced that the upcoming JFW DH PS3 CFW has been delayed, however, the Custom Firmware is now said to support 3.7+ games!

To quote, roughly translated: Well as the title says demons, DH JFW will suffer a delay in its launch date for several reasons, including that one of the devs in charge of openpstore this very busy with college, the other manager's manager suffered plugins a sporting accident and has his hand in plaster (blipi) so it works much more slowly.

Without the plugin manager can not control Thegra plugins, and without the openpstore can not be connected to the platform JFW updates for the DH.

It was all planned by the date specified on October 1, but with these problems we can not give an exact date (just a week, 15 days) do not know, what if I assure you is that the wait will be worth, and that once this JFW published an exploit that part (not out) you can play all future games (no matter the 37x version, etc), we will not say the method ... (this has been always the error publish the methods) but just the theme keys (do not make us as needed).

1saludo and to let you know I'm very bad demons, I think...

Sony Details Combat Wings on PS3 with PlayStation Move Support

250°
152w ago - Today Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared details on the upcoming PS3 title Combat Wings- complete with PlayStation Move support below!

To quote: Combat Wings: The Great Battles of WWII lands on PS3 this November with aerial combat campaigns set amidst the bloodiest air battles of World War II.

Not long ago, I tried out a pre-release version of the game under the watchful eye of Creative Director [Register or Login to view links], focusing on the game's use of the PlayStation Move motion controller.

Before I grabbed the stick for a test flight, I was curious what made Majewski want to support PlayStation Move in the first place – WWII air combat isn't exactly a genre that leaps into my mind when I ponder the potential of motion-controlled gaming.

"Move makes this game better," Majewski said with conviction. "It's a much more natural form of steering than using an analog stick and it makes a huge difference to the gameplay.

Playing a flying game with a controller can be clunky; you have to make a lot of fine movements in order to change direction and aim. PlayStation Move is great - you just point where you want to go." Based on just 30 minutes of play time, I'd have to agree.

Move proves...
