Wattam PS4: From Katamari Damacy Creator Keita Takahashi

50°
2w ago - Funomena Co-founder Robin Hunicke officially introduced Wattam PS4 from Katamari Damacy Creator Keita Takahashi today alongside a PlayStation 4 video trailer below.

To quote: Hi! This is Keita and Robin here to share with you this first glimpse of our new project at Funomena. When we told people that we had begun to collaborate on a new game, they were very curious about what it could be. It is called "Wattam".

The idea for this game came from when Keita was playing with his two-year old son, and wondered about what if all toys lived, and connected by themselves? It would be such a fun world to explore and play with!

The word "Wattam" itself is actually composed of the Tamil and Japanese words for "making a circle" or "making a loop". The initial prototype for this game was made by Keita and his friend Vikram, who are from these two cultures respectively, and this new word acknowledges one of the game's core inspirations: making connections between different types of things.

But what you'll see here today is actually about a square-shaped person. It is a sneak peek into the life of the Mayor of the world of Wattam. We hope you enjoy meeting him, and the other characters of Wattam, as we reveal...

2w ago - Today Chris Miller and John Mundy of Fun Bits Interactive officially announced Fat Princess Adventures for PlayStation 4 alongside a PS4 trailer video below!

To quote: Hey, this is Chris Miller and John Mundy. We're the studio head and creative director of Fun Bits Interactive, and we're here at Sony's PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas to announce our latest game, Fat Princess Adventures.

This new Fat Princess is bigger and badder than ever, with tons of fast-paced hack 'n' slash action. Up to four players can play together online or on the couch to save the world in this casual co-op RPG adventure.

The warring kingdoms from the original game have signed a truce and joined forces to battle the Bitter Queen and her army of hungry Gobblings.

Your epic quest will span the length and breadth of the land of Great Bitten, from the pinnacles of the Salt Mountains to the depths of the Mines of S'morsia. Along the way you'll fight dozens of new enemy types ranging from sticky cake golems to dreaded pirates.

Fans of the original game will instantly recognize the classic character classes: the Warrior, the Archer, the Mage, and the Engineer. This time however you can upgrade your character...

Video: Tim Schafer on Why You Need to Check Out Grim Fandango

2w ago - Today Sony's Dan Hsu shared a video and Q & A interview with Tim Schafer on why you need to check out Grim Fandango on PS4 and PS Vita below.

To quote: Tim Schafer is never "off." The funnyman game designer and founder of studio house Double Fine Productions is constantly cracking jokes, even when he's trying to be serious.

So when we had a chance to interview him about his upcoming adventure game, Grim Fandango Remastered, we didn't even try to play it straight (for the most part).

The original Grim Fandango originally came out over 16 years ago and became a cult classic. Now it's getting a full, fresh HD makeover for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, due out January 2015. But who should care? Schafer explains:

Q: I'm a 15-year-old gamer, and the original Grim Fandango came out before I was even born. Why should I play your old-man game?

Tim Schafer: When my older brother went away to college, I raided his record collection and randomly pulled out Led Zeppelin III. I had never heard Led Zeppelin before, so when the opening notes of Immigrant Song burrowed into my brain, I was not prepared.

My head exploded and my life was forever changed. What...

2w ago - Capybara Games Co-founder and President Nathan Vella announced today alongside a video trailer that Super Time Force Ultra is headed to PS4 and PlayStation Vita platforms.

Below are the details, to quote: Nathan here from Capy. It's... TIME... to have a little chat, folks.

It's been while since I've been on the Blog (anyone remember Critter Crunch?), but I couldn't be more stoked to be back. I'm very excited to announce that our time-travelling platformer SUPER TIME FORCE ULTRA is headed to PS4 and PS Vita! Here's a little trailer to prove it:

We've been super proud of the response to the game so far- including tons of great reviews from fans & critics, some insane speedruns on YouTube, and even some fancy awards! However, we often got messages from fans that fell into two categories:

1) questioning the plausibility of time travel truly altering the future (we hear you, astrophysicist fans!), and 2) loud pleas to bring the game to PlayStation (we heard you too, loud and clear!).

Concerning the often-misguided exploits of a rag-tag bunch of time travelling lunatics, SUPER TIME FORCE ULTRA is a crazy romp through the space-time continuum. Using a Mega-Man-style world select, players can...

2w ago - Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono announced today that Street Fighter V will be console exclusive to PS4 alongside revealing the first PlayStation 4 gameplay video below!

To quote: Hey guys, big news: STREET FIGHTER V is coming and will be console exclusive to the PS4.

What's even bigger news is that our partnership with Sony will result in SFV having cross-platform play, which will in turn unite our Street Fighter fans into one grand player base.

That's right; PS4 owners will now be able to lay the smack down against PC owners and vice-versa, a first for the Street Fighter series!

As I'm sure a lot of you out there are eager to see how the game looks, we've provided some screens below. Please take note that SFV is still early in development.

Here's the logo and the packaging. We felt the bold design really speaks to the bold game play of SFV!

But the hype doesn't stop there as Sony is also bringing USFIV to the PlayStation 4 brought to you by their Third...
