Alien: Isolation is Out Today on PS4 and PlayStation 3 Platforms

2w ago - Alien: Isolation Animator Simon Ridge announced that the title is officially out today on PS4 and PlayStation 3 platforms with details below.

To quote: Alien: Isolation is out today on PS4 and PS3, and it's designed to capture the style and horror of the 1979 sci-fi classic.

To celebrate, two members of the development team join PlayStation.Blog for a look into the rich, complex process of bringing the iconic killer to Alien: Isolation.

Animating the Alien

My name is Simon Ridge and I'm an animator on Alien: Isolation. My main focus while working on this game has been animating the Alien and helping to bring this character to life. At the beginning of every task in animation, I always start by researching, gathering influences, and surrounding myself with everything I can to do with that character.

On Alien: Isolation we had an abundance of reference material; this helped massively in developing a good idea of the psyche of the Alien and the world it inhabits, and acted as a good grounding point if we ever strayed too far. 20th Century Fox kindly gave us brilliant information from their archives.

When it came to creating a style of movement and physicality for the Alien, I had to look a bit further than just the films and artwork. During...

2w ago - Green Lava Studios CEO Eduardo Ramirez announced today that punishing platformer Fenix Rage is coming to PS Vita and PS4 platforms.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello PlayStation fans! My name is Eduardo Ramirez, founder and lead developer at Green Lava Studios, a Costa Rican based indie game studio.

As big PlayStation fans, we were very excited to make the announcement that Fenix Rage, our hardcore 2D action-platformer, would be coming to PS4 in early 2015.

It's been amazing to read all the comments from people looking forward to playing our game on PS4, and we're getting great feedback from current players of the PC version on how to make improvements for the PS4 version.

After reading several PlayStation blogs and forums asking us to make this game for PS Vita, I'm also very excited to announce today that we will also be bringing Fenix Rage to PS Vita - yay! Our plan is to have it available at the same time as the PS4 version early next year.

We're very early in the process of planning out what gameplay changes we want to make for both the PS4 and PS Vita version, as well as what types of new features we like to add.

We definitely want PlayStation fans to enjoy the addicting fast-paced action of our game and perhaps even add new challenges...

And although you can take your favorite teams to the court or face off against competition from around the world online, you can also bring yourself into the game. Don't have time to be a pro player in the NBA? No worries, 2K has you covered.

In NBA 2K15, you can create MyPLAYER to represent you in your rise from an undrafted rookie to an NBA Hall of Famer. By using PlayStation Camera with PS4, you can scan in thousands of data points from your face, and NBA 2K15 will build your MyPLAYER with incredible results. And all you have to do? Sit there and turn your head!

We wanted to try out this new feature for ourselves. As you can see from the images below, we had a blast building some pro players in our own (nerdy) image. If you want to put yourself on the court, [Register or Login to view links] when getting PlayStation Camera set up.

1.) Sit in a well-lit area, natural lighting preferred.
