126w ago - Today Engadget.com (linked above) reposts that video game console modder Ben Heck has unveiled his latest ruggedized, self-contained PlayStation 3 suitcase modification in The Ben Heck Show (Episode 9).

The military-grade PlayStation 3 is intended for use in Afghanistan, and features a 22″ LCD screen, built-in speakers, TV tuner, network switch and storage compartment.

Some pictures of it are below, and to quote: "The military-grade portable gaming system was designed and built for a couple working with the military overseas, and it's Pelican's iM2600 Store Case there on the outside keeping things safe and secure from flying shrapnel.

As Ben always does, he managed to carefully place an entire PS3 console deep within the confines of the enclosure, and he even threw in an integrated LCD into the lid to prevent any additional external hookups. Generator equals gametime, as they say."

FILE MANAGER:

• Launch games from any folder (click [X] on EBOOT.BIN)
  
• Mount AVCHD from any folder (click [X] on INDEX.BDM)
  
• Mount BDMV (Blu-ray) from any folder (click [X] on index.bdmv)
  
• New option in INI: mount_hdd1=1 (to use 2GB PS3 cache partition)
  

The archive also includes BD-ROM.pkg as described in the previous posts.

You can also update within the manager (which is always the first update available).

Here is a MEGA pack (FULL) for multiMAN 01.11.02 (stable) (27MB) (FW 3.40-3.55).

129w ago - Today we received word and videos from bx1199 of the E3 Team and sk group that E3DIY.net has made available an E3 Card Reader PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.50 downgrader, while PR0r also let us know that OzModChips (linked above) is now offering an Infectus PS3 Mod 3.50 Firmware downgrade service as well.

With this bin you can get the PS3 into service mode and downgrade using the previously released files to downgrade to 3.41 and below.
