289w ago - My first thought was "wow, these combat scenes look sweet". My second was, "I can't believe how much this game has changed."
While Tears to Tiara is a PlayStation 3 game, its origins are a PC game. Here's the PlayStation 3 trailer, which concentrates on actual gameplay footage minus the adventure scenes.
Aquaplus didn't just polish the game for the PlayStation 3. The combat system has been completely revamped to make Tears to Tiara a grid based strategy RPG. Japan gets a chance to purchase Tears to Tiara on July 17.
Check out the video below:
Now compare that with footage of the PC game below:
No North American release has been announced, but I imagine companies are eying this already. NIS America seems like a possible candidate to localize Tears to Tiara since they are working on PlayStation 3 games, specialize in SRPGS, and have a knack for taking risks with new franchises. They took a risk localizing those Idea Factory and 2D Gust RPGs for the English speaking world.

289w ago - Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said back at E3 2007 that he wanted to make Devil May Cry 5 if Capcom let him.
This week Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto announced in a press release that Capcom's fiscal year 2008 sales increased to over 83 billion Yen ($806 million), in part thanks to Devil May Cry 4's record sales of over 2 million units worldwide since its early February 2008 release, making it the fastest selling Devil May Cry game so far and taking the entire series from 7 to 9 million sold.
It now seems all but certain Capcom wants a sequel with Mr. Tsujimoto closing off the PR by saying "We hope to continue meeting and exceeding the expectations of gamers with our dedication to developing solid titles for the best gaming platforms available."

To quote Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi's words from last year: "Continuing the storyline is always possible. However, we do work under a corporate system, so unless Capcom gives us the green light to go ahead and continue on with releasing Devil May Cry 5, 6, 11, whatnot. It's totally up to them.
However, personally I would like to continue with Devil May Cry and create more and...
289w ago - We know the Metal Gear Solid series is famous for its long cut-scenes, but this tops everything! Metal Gear Solid 4, the latest instalment in Hideo Kojima's seminal stealth series, has cut-scenes (note the plural) that approach the 90 minutes mark.
For those troubled with time keeping, that's the length of a feature film.
The news comes from PSW magazine, who's been and finished MGS4, and then promptly whispered in our ears about the shocking 90-minute cut-scenes. The latest issue hits newsstands today, by the way.
We were expecting long story sequences (MGS2 approached the 45 minute mark in one) but an hour and a half of cinematics was unexpected.
The good news is that you can now skip or pause the scenes. Hands up though, how many of you are actually going to sit through the full 90 minutes?
"MGS4's story is massive. The videogame equivalent of all three Godfather movies on one disc," says the mag.
"As you'd expect, you'll spend a lot of time watching cut-scenes, so if you found previous games' story exposition laborious, then you'd better find yourself a nice cushion and plenty of teabags in readiness for MGS4's.
"They can be skipped, but you'll be missing out on some of the finely crafted examples of FMV footage anywhere in gaming," the...
