181w ago - Today Senior Producer Wes Yanagi of Sony Online Entertainment Austin has shared the world premier of the DC Universe Online Official PS3 E3 trailer!
To quote: All of us on the DCUO team are extremely excited to provide the PlayStation.Blog community with the world premier of the DC Universe Online official E3 trailer.
The team has been hard at work gearing up for E3, and as you'll see in this trailer composed entirely of actually game play footage. The moment you step into the world of DC Universe Online, you will experience high paced action and physics unlike anything ever seen before, and this trailer is just a taste of what lies ahead for you!
Our goal at Sony Online Entertainment in Austin is to combine a fast paced action combat experience that console gamers expect with a huge online world supporting thousands of players.
Our saying around the office is "Prove Thru Play," and we can't wait to get people in front of the game at E3 this week to take it for a test drive and experience for themselves exactly what we mean.
This trailer also shows the tremendous influence Jim Lee...
182w ago - ModNation Racers Audio Producer Andrew Bracken has announced today that the official soundtrack of the PS3 and PSP title is now available on Sony's PlayStation Network.
To quote: Getting the right music was tricky for ModNation Racers since it needed to not only feel like racing, but also to capture the creative spirit and unique visual style of the ModNation Racers universe.
Thankfully, United Front Games did a great job finding the right guys for the job.The end result is an upbeat mix of rock, hip-hop, and funk music composed by a handful of talented composers, including Peter Chapman, Marc Baril, and Melissa Reese, who are all featured on the soundtrack.
We are now happy to announce the release of the ModNation Racers soundtrack on PSN for only $7.99. The 16-track soundtrack, featuring 15 songs from the game as well as a bonus track, can also be found on iTunes.
Here are a few of my favorite tracks:
This bonus track is the official anthem for ModNation Racers and everybody who worked on the game is required to sing it to themselves once a day.

185w ago - Today SystemLink (linked above) has shared a scan from the latest Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM issue #45) which confirms the upcoming PS3 3D Firmware update will indeed arrive this June (likely around June 10, 2010) as previously reported.
However, as expected, this PlayStation 3 Firmware update will only bring Sony fans 3D games for the PS3, not 3D Blu-ray just yet.
To quote: "In Issue 45, on sale now, OPM reveal that a new Firmware, possibly 3.40, is coming to PS3 in June, during or shortly after E3.
The only other information given is that this update will prepare your PS3 for 3D games, and another firmware update later in the year will add the same functionality to Blu-rays."
193w ago - Atlus' Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has released the official 3D Dot Game Heroes PS3 trailer today!
To quote: 3D Dot Game Heroes, the PlayStation 3 exclusive that promises to inject retro-saccharin goodness directly into your corneas (those are part of your eyes, whippersnappers), has a full video trailer... And here it is!
So why should you be excited? Aside from the retro 3D visuals, ear-gratifying musical score, and extremely addicting, nostalgic action-adventure gameplay, you mean? Well... BECAUSE IT HAS TRAILER MUSIC!
Did you hear it? Like, the part with the chorus singing in the background? Who cares if the game is awesome (it is, by the way) when you have trailer music with voices chanting in the background!?
Oh, and to address a couple comments that have been popping up in posts relating to 3D Dot Game Heroes:
The huge swords evident in some screens/videos do NOT break the game. It is not a design flaw. You're only that big when you're at FULL health (intuitive, right?), and you'll rarely be at full health for long stretches of time.
Moreover, only near the end of the game will you have a sword THAT large, not to mention one with the ability to penetrate geometry...
