Team17: Alien Breed Launches PS3 and PS Vita Assault Next Week

86w ago - Team17 Creative Manager Kevin Carthew has announced today that Alien Breed launches a PS3 and PS Vita assault next week.

Below are the details, to quote: Alien Breed, our new survival horror game, is due for release on PS3 and PS Vita on February 12th via PlayStation Store for $9.99, with a 20% launch discount available for PlayStation Plus members!

Last year we celebrated the 21st anniversary of Alien Breed and brought the title to PlayStation Mobile. With the PS3 and PS Vita version we wanted to introduce more cool features, such as the ability for players to team up on either system via cross-platform play.

There is also ad-hoc and online co-op multiplayer for PS Vita, and local and online co-op multiplayer for PS3. We've also got Cross-Platform Continuation Play in the mix too, allowing players to carry on their PS3 save game progress on their PS Vita and vice versa.

Alien Breed is fondly remembered by its fans, especially in the UK where the Special Edition stayed in the "All Formats" charts for over a year. We were really proud of the 2009 version of the game, but a remake of the original game turned out to be a much better fit for the platforms it was appearing on.

Start Your Morning With Wake-up Club for PS Vita Next Week

400°
90w ago - Today Sony Director of Product Planning and Platform Software Innovation Don Mesa has officially introduced the Wake Up Club for PS Vita owners.

To quote: Back in April, we unveiled a host of new applications coming to PS Vita, including Wake-up Club, a new interactive way to start your day with other PS Vita owners. Next Tuesday, the application will be available to download for free on the PS Vita PlayStation Store in North America!

Let's face it: getting up in the morning isn't something we usually look forward to, but Wake-up Club adds some social fun into the mix to make getting out of bed more bearable.

In addition to adding alarm clock functionality to PS Vita for the first time, including the ability to personalize your alarm tone and background theme, Wake-up Club matches 12 randomly selected players who set their alarm clock at the same time into a–you guessed it–wake-up club!

Wake Up Club for PS Vita

As soon as your alarm goes off, your avatar will begin bouncing around the PS Vita touchscreen. Tapping your avatar lets other players know you're now awake. Once in the virtual club room, you can see other players' avatars, as well as who's awake and who's still sleeping. Tapping the sleeping players' avatars will "cheer"...

94w ago - Nnooo Creative Director Nic Watt has shared a video today spotlighting EscapeVektor, which makes a break for PlayStation Vita next week!

Below are the details, to quote: We're happy to bring you information about escapeVektor, a new game coming to PlayStation Vita from Australian independent developer [Register or Login to view links].

The concept is simple: Vektor is trapped inside your CPU and needs your help to escape! Each node (level) consists of a series of interconnected lines which form cells.

These are claimed as Vektor moves along them. Claiming all of the cells in a node unlocks the exit to the next node, bringing Vektor closer to his escape. Watch out because the CPU sets up obstacles and sends out its army to destroy him.

There are four main abilities to unlock and use in escapeVektor.

• Detonate: This ability allows you to destroy enemies which get too close. If you can escape a node without detonating you'll earn a star! Getting stars on all the nodes is going to be tricky.

• Boost: Boost allows you to travel much faster than normal for short periods of time.

• Super Boost: This is a much faster version of boost which drains boost energy even quicker!!

Boostenate: Boostenate is Vektor's most...
