Team Naughty Dog Sweeps the Interactive Achievement Awards

217w ago - SCE Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida has revealed that the Naughty Dog team has sweeped the Interactive Achievement Awards last week.

To quote: Wow, what an evening it was last week at the annual Interactive Achievement Awards.

UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves received ten Interactive Achievement Awards, including Overall Game of the Year. I was sitting in the audience watching the Naughty Dog team walk up to podium to accept one award after another.

By the end of the show, the entire UNCHARTED 2 core team was on the stage with the biggest award in their hands, thanking their incredibly talented team and family members who supported their intense development cycle.

AIAS Award, like the Academy Award for movies, is chosen and voted by the professional game developer community. It€s a celebration of creativity in game development and to let the world know who brought the most exceptional talent, passion and love to make a game in the past year.

I have been attending this event for many years, but being associated with the game that has taken the highest honor of the year is an incredibly special moment for anyone in the industry....

Video: Make.Believe: Programmer to Naughty Dog Co-President

217w ago - Today SCEA's VP of Product Development Scott Rohde has made available a video from the Make.Believe series which highlights the transition from Programmer to Naughty Dog Co-President.

To quote: You€ve probably seen Sony€s global €make.believe€ (pronounced €make-dot-believe€) initiative by now, which comes with a simple message: believe that anything you can imagine, you can make real.

I know a lot of you have heard the name Christophe Balestra, and like many of you out there, his make.believe moment is taking place every day. Christophe, along with co-president Evan Wells and the entire team at Naughty Dog, have been creating amazing games for the PlayStation family since the mid-nineties, when Crash Bandicoot made his debut on the original PlayStation.

Since then, the Dogs have brought us the incredible Jak and Daxter franchise of adventure games, and of course, the critically acclaimed UNCHARTED series, including the latest award winning title, UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves.

Naughty Dog has played a huge role in shaping the action adventure...

220w ago - Naughty Dog has announced that their PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack DLC is now available for Sony's PS3 entertainment system.

This is the first downloadable content for Uncharted 2 that is available on the PlayStation Network Store for everyone around the world to purchase.

To quote: "The PlayStation Heroes features seven key characters from your favorite first-party PS3 games from the last fourteen months€"inFAMOUS, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2.

By downloading the PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack, you€ll get a chance to use Cole, Evil Cole, Zeke, Sev, a Helghast soldier, Nathan Hale or a Chimera out into the competitive multiplayer modes of UNCHARTED 2 (and hopefully surprise a few people you€re playing against).

The Pack is priced in the US at $4.99. If you€re reading from outside the United States, check your local PlayStation Network Store for your local pricing.

Since this was our first attempt at importing characters from other games and engines into the Naughty Dog Engine that powers UNCHARTED 2, I hit up one of our lead character artists to help me coordinate and produce some nice high-resolution renders of all these characters from within our tools pipeline.

We put all the character renders in a...

Naughty Dog Wishes PS3 Fans a Very Happy New Year 2010

350°
224w ago - This weekend Naughty Dog's Senior Manager of Marketing Communications Arne Meyer has sent Happy New Year 2010 wishes to PS3 fans.

To quote: All of us at Naughty Dog wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year!

2009 has been both incredibly busy AND amazing year for us on all counts. We started the year off working hard on UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves and we had no idea what was going to be in store for us and for our fans as the year progressed.

We had our heads down for most of the year making sure we put together an awesome game that we think you would like, but when E3 came around, we took a moment to stop and realize that things were really coming together as UNCHARTED 2 picked up over 20 awards when all was said and done.

It€s safe to say we were stoked to get this recognition and it made us kick things up a notch over the next several months as we were putting the finishing touches on our game. When we released UNCHARTED 2 in October to critical acclaim, we were looking forward to hearing what all of our fans thought on NaughtyDog.com, the PlayStation forums, Twitter and anywhere else on the Internet you discussed our game.

Now, we€re wrapping up the year watching our game win Game of the Year...
