218w ago - Today MLB 10 The Show PS3 Associate Producer Clayton Read has shared a video detailing 'Real Time' presentation mode, as follows:

In a continued effort to blur the lines between a video game and a televised broadcast, MLB 10: The Show is proud to introduce the brand new presentation mode: Real Time. Available with replays or without, Real Time is a new presentation mode designed to further enhance the realism our baseball simulation offers you, the baseball fan.

Hoping to have you question whether you're playing MLB 10: The Show or watching a live baseball game on TV, we've captured hundreds of new animations and have done extensive work with both our AI and our cameras.

From the pitcher toeing the rubber until the next batter walks up to the dish, you'll experience continuity with the seamless animations and positional intelligence of each player on and off the field.

All new camera angles and cut-timing capture the player's new movements and further enhance the presentation mode by mimicking the camera work seen on televised MLB broadcasts. Post-play has never looked this real.

In this Real Time presentations video, we're off to brand new Target...

219w ago - MLB 10: The Show Producer Jason Villa has detailed the video game's online season leagues for Sony's PlayStation 3 today, as follows:

In this post I'll be describing the details of the all-new and revamped Online Season League system for MLB 10: The Show. Forget what you knew about SportsConnect leagues last year, and please continue reading...

Our goal coming into this year was to give online users the same season experience online as they've come to expect in the offline season mode. However, there are still the Online League specific features, like creating a Draft or Non-Draft league.

The draft still allows for 6-30 teams, with some audio queues for "your turn" and "countdown." A few new Create League settings: Custom Sliders, Presentation Mode, Umpire Balls and Strikes, Ejections, Home Run Celebration.

We are again providing you with all online user stats and leaderboards, but the huge change this year is the addition of all player stats for your full 40-man roster.

You will get access to the full "Around the League" screens, including Playoff Brackets, Standings, Statistics, Team Rankings, League Leaders and Awards. Just to relay the amount of data available in Online Leagues, we are potentially talking about 30 teams, with 40 players,...

More importantly though, I'm happy to give you the exclusive look at the brand new MLB 10 The Show box art featuring our own PlayStation Hall of Famer, Joe Mauer. For those of you looking to get your work in on the virtual diamond before Opening Day, MLB 10 The Show will officially hit store shelves on MARCH 2!

MLB 10 The Show for PS3 Names Joe Mauer as Cover Athelete

50°
226w ago - SCEA PR Manager Eric Levine has announced today that MLB 10 The Show for PS3 has named Joe Mauer as their cover athelete.

To quote: It may be December, but the MLB off season is beginning to heat up. Roy Halladay to the Phillies, Cliff Lee to Mariners, and John Lackey to the Red Sox has made for quite a week.

However, I'm proud to report that the biggest news to come out during the current winter meetings is not from an All-Star hurler changing addresses, but from the industry's #1 baseball franchise, MLB The Show. It is my pleasure to announce that the recently crowned 2009 American League Most Valuable Player and catcher for the Minnesota Twins, Joe Mauer will be the cover athlete for the latest installment of the series, MLB 10 The Show!

We're absolutely thrilled to partner with a player of Joe's caliber– a true professional on and off the field. Just to give you all a sense of how good this guy is here are some credentials–2-time...
