Super Icon Ltd Unveils Life of Pixel Update: You Talked, We Listened

100w ago - Super Icon Ltd Creative Director Richard Hill-Whittall has officially unveiled their Life of Pixel update today proclaiming: You Talked, We Listened!

Below are the details, to quote: Although I have been developing games for a lot of years, our PS Mobile-exclusive title Life of Pixel was the first time I have had the opportunity to do a big update to one of the games I have worked on after release.

It has been fantastic to get the opportunity to revisit the game to fix a few issues that were present in the initial release, and to listen to feedback from those who downloaded Pixel v1.

[Register or Login to view links] has been invaluable to keep in touch with those players and discuss issues and ideas for the update. In fact, I had such a great time working on the update I ended up adding in a lot more stuff than I originally planned!

Life of Pixel is an old-fashioned platform game with plenty of modern twists and puzzle elements. The star of the game is Pixel, a little green pixel who is tired of being part of the crowd. Luckily, he happens to live right next door to a videogame museum, so under the cover of darkness he sneaks in to take a look...

Players were not happy with the audio experience in the original game, so we now have a unique...

To quote from his blog: Yet another application update, bringing PS3 Game List to v2.1. Due to the major framework revision implemented in v2.0, some of the new features needed more polishing to better suit the app engine.

This version improves PS3GL responsiveness while loading data from multiple media sources (game folders, PKGs, ISOs and RAR compressed files) simultaneously. Basically, it means less time waiting and more time doing stuff that matters.

Another long time requested feature is the ability to manually add a game to the loaded list and search for its updates, even if the game is not in the user’s library. Fret no more, simply add the game to your list and PS3GL will search for its updates (to be fair, it was already possible to do that by importing a standalone game list from Excel).

Speaking of which, PS3GL now exports and imports a game list saved in...

To quote from his blog: In time for the holidays, another revision bringing PS3 Game List to v2.0. The idea behind this release was to update the framework supporting the application, while implementing all the possible features (most suggested by users) fitting the time frame.

This version implements a very useful feature: support for RAR files (including multivolume and password protected archives). That means users can retire WinRar for their decompressing needs, as PS3 Game List is now able to load game info from RARs and extract data as well (up to 5% faster than WinRar, no less).

This functionality allows users to manage their compressed games, in addition to their standard game folders, games stored as ISO files and PKGs (PSN games and Homebrew), pushing the ‘all-in-one...

Video: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist - The Fifth Freedom

50°
122w ago - Ubisoft Creative Director Maxime Beland has shared a video today introducing The Fifth Freedom in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist for PS3.

To quote: Splinter Cell is a franchise that has always been grounded in realism, and the latest installment of the game features a story ripped straight from today's headlines.

In reality, there are conflicts in the world we are aware of. But then there are the conflicts we will never hear about - a war in the shadows that will be defused by the few who must make difficult decisions, and who carry a heavy burden to protect our fundamental liberties.

This is the context for granting Sam Fisher the Fifth Freedom in Splinter Cell: Blacklist - the power to do whatever it takes to protect the greater good. Only the President can authorise the Fifth Freedom, and only the most skilled and trustworthy operatives America has to offer have ever received it.

In order to truly understand the Fifth Freedom, and why it plays such a critical role in developing the story in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, I want to give you some historical background for our story. In 1941, US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave the "Four Freedoms" speech, laying out the quartet of liberties that "everyone in the world" should hold as a birthright:

124w ago - Killzone Community Editor Victor Zuylen has announced today that Killzone HD is coming to PSN on October 23rd and has revealed a PS3 Trophy List for the title below!

To quote: Announced last week, the Killzone Trilogy box set combines Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 with a high-definition PS3 remaster of the original Killzone.

Today we take a closer look at Killzone HD, and the challenging new trophy set that comes with it.

Originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004, Killzone tells the story of Jan Templar, an ISA Captain whose home planet comes under attack from a Helghast invasion army.

Together with a hot-headed sergeant named Rico, a deadly Shadow Marshal known as Luger, and the half-human, half-Helghast spy Hakha, Templar must attempt to reactivate the Orbital Defense Platform and drive the invading forces from his planet Vekta.

This rip-roaring introduction to the Killzone universe has been remastered in HD for inclusion with the Killzone Trilogy bundle.

Featuring a single-player campaign with four playable characters and an offline multiplayer mode against AI opponents, Killzone HD has received a thorough audiovisual overhaul: the game boasts 720p graphics at a steady 30fps,...
