Rock Band Unplugged Lite is Hitting Sony's PSPGo on October 1st

256w ago - Sony PSP Marketing Manager Kristin Neirinckx has announced today that Rock Band Unplugged Lite is coming to the PSPGo console on October 1, 2009.

To quote: Not too long ago, Rock Band Unplugged made its debut on the PSP-3000 system. We've seen a great response to the game and now Rock Band Unplugged is coming to PSPgo!

For a limited time, when you purchase a PSPgo system, you'll have access to a PlayStation Network downloadable voucher for Rock Band Unplugged Lite.

This lite version of Rock Band Unplugged will allow you to play five full tracks. Plus, you can create your own personalized version of the game by purchasing your favorite [Register or Login to view links] from the PlayStation Network. Now the only instrument you'll need to rock anywhere is the PSPgo system!

Again, quantities are limited so be sure to mark your calendar for October 1.
 

Epic Canadian Premiers Hitting Fan Expo in Toronto this Weekend

256w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Canada's Senior Public Relations Specialist Kyle Moffatt has announced that this weekend PlayStation Canada will be attending the Fan Expo in Toronto.

To quote: Huge news for Canadian gamers attending Fan Expo this weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.

PlayStation Canada is attending the show in a massive way this year offering attendees the chance to get some hands-on time with a few major first party blockbuster titles. PLAYABLE the first time in Canada will be on the PSP Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier and for PlayStation 3, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Buzz Quiz World, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time and God of War III.

Be sure to stop by our booth this weekend so you can play these top titles well in advance of their release. Also if you are planning to attend the show on Saturday, be sure to check out the panel discussion featuring the host of Electric Playground Victor Lucas and SCEC's own Matt Levitan at 4 PM.

We'll be giving away plenty of prizes and tons of swag throughout the weekend so be sure to come see us when you are at the show. Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Hitting PSN

258w ago - Update: Although not definitive, [Register or Login to view links] reports that Capcom's Chris Kramer stated the games will be out "within the next three months."

A few months ago it was first reported that Capcom classics were making their way to Sony's PlayStation Network.

Today the green flag was given to three more, specifically, the [Register or Login to view links] has now rated Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for the PS3.

However, no release dates have been given at this time.

To quote: "The ESRB site doesn't have the search fields in the URL so we can't give you links to the ratings for the games, but search for them and you'll see the newly added 'PlayStation 3' platform under each one.

No dates yet, of course, but presumably we'll see these on our Store sooner rather than later."
 

Dante's Inferno Says No to PC Gamers, Hitting Console Platforms

261w ago - Sorry PC gamers. Dante's keeping his Inferno to himself. Speaking with [Register or Login to view links], an EA PR rep shot down any hopes of a PC version of the hotly anticipated game.

To quote: "When Dante's Inferno was originally announced in December, we attached no platforms to the project. When we came out with a first look for press in February we announced 360/PS3 and then in April we announced PSP.

We never announced a PC SKU nor are there plans for any," the rep said.

Oh well. Maybe PC gamers will have better luck the next time a major publisher decides to turn a contemplative literary masterpiece into a decidedly violent hack 'n' slash.
 

Black Nintendo Wii is Packaged and Hitting Japan on August 1st

262w ago - August first is just around the corner, and that day is when the Black Nintendo Wii launches in Japan.

Admit it, it looks sweet (pictured below). That blue light on the face of the console amidst the solid black makes it look ultra modern.

Even the packaging looks classy.

The Black version of the Wii lands in Japan on August 1st for 25,000 (US$ 258).
