Video: Halo Legends is Hitting PS3 in 2010 on Blu-ray Disc

200°
273w ago - The CNET article (linked above) entitled "A Halo Release That Will Be Playable on the PS3" is rapidly making Internet headlines today, however, it's a bit misleading.

If you consider watching a Halo movie as 'playing' it on the PS3, then yes it'll be possible next year.

For the rest of us, [Register or Login to view links] has announced that the movie will be coming out on Blu-ray disc, meaning that we'll simply be able to watch it on Sony's PlayStation 3 console.

To quote: "The announcement was made at the 2009 Comic-Con in San Diego. The series will be available for download via Xbox Live this fall. According to Blu-ray.com we can expect to see this on Blu-ray sometime in 2010, so there will finally be a disc labeled Halo that will play on the PS3 for all the Halo fans.

However, since the Xbox 360 doesn't support Blu-ray, it makes you wonder if Blu-ray is in the 360's future? Or maybe the next-gen Xbox?"

Home Hitting PSP, PSPGo to Have 700 Launch Games & Converter

50°
274w ago - Following Kaz Hirai's keynote address at Tokyo Game Show 2009, Sony revealed that the PSP will be getting a version of PlayStation Home dubbed PlayStation Room.

This newer portable version will let you have blogs, photo albums, and some social networking features like chat, mini-games, and real-time communication.

The upcoming PSPGo will also have 700 launch games when it arrives on October 1st in North America, to quote from Examiner.com (linked above):

"The PSPGo will have a very large library of games available for purchase. Offering 700 downloadable titles when it hits America, the PSPGo will launch with the biggest library of games any system has ever had - meanwhile, Japan will have 400 games available."

Finally, according to [Register or Login to view links] the PSPGo will be getting a converter (pictured below) since it's not compatible with current PSP accessories such as the PSP camera.

To quote: "With the new Converter Cable Adaptor, PSPgo users will be able to utilize the existing peripherals for PSP, Sony announced at Tokyo Game Show today. Peripherals like the 1Seg Tuner and GPS Receiver will be able to fit in the Go's proprietary Multi use connector."

Rumor: Castle Crashers Hitting PlayStation 3 via PSN in 2010?

200°
278w ago - It appears The Behemoth's 2D action game Castle Crashers is no longer exclusive to Xbox 360.

According to CastleCrashers.com (linked above), the highly popular Xbox Live Arcade game will be hitting the PlayStation 3 via PSN in 2010.

This news comes despite earlier [Register or Login to view links] of it arriving on 8/27/2009 (which is obviously false), so now the title will not be conquering the PlayStation Store this year.

For those unaware: Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling, beat-em-up which incorporates a small number of role-playing game elements.

After selecting a character, the player then selects a starting level (beginning with the wizard's attack on the castle) through a graph-like world map; once the player completes a level, they may then opt to start or revisit that level any time.

Other levels include shops where the player can buy items for healing, attacking, or defense using coins gained from defeated foes, and arena levels where the player can take on challenges to unlock additional characters, although in co-op the arena turns into a player vs player match.
