If any of you are familiar with the Haze Hype articles of last year you'll probably remember a good deal of praise going toward development studio Free Radical for their original and risky project, Haze. The very reason Haze was compared to Halo 3 was not because Bungie had a media fiasco surrounding their green savior for the planet Earth, but for the lack of ingenuity that was going into the project, in light of the hype. 297w ago - The following Bungie developer interview notes are a summary of everything Halo 4 the company talked about or what was hinted at. We dubbed it "The Secret Files" that puts one and one together. Every Halo fan obviously knows the (original) Halo trilogy is over (Halo 3 was left with an open ending).
But with Ensemble Studios working on the Halo Wars RTS prequel and an episodic Halo: Chronicles cinematic-game trilogy series still in the works by Peter Jackson, would a Halo 4 FPS really be that far fetched? Time to line up the facts...
July 14th 2006: Bungie audio director, Marty O'Donnell, said at the UK Game Developers Conference that "We all want Halo to be the great ending to an epic trilogy. We look at what Peter Jackson did with the Lord of the Rings films - which each film bettering the previous one and that is what we are aiming for."
September 25th 2007: At the launch of Halo 3 the cinematic designer, Lee Wilson, said "There's a lot of people who have been working on Halo much longer than us two have and they're really interested in exploring new games, new stories, and whatever comes out of those conversations is what we're going to pursue. 297w ago - First of all, we don't really hate Halo. We're just pretending. That said, we're not going to hop on the fanboy wagon and pretend that there aren't any parts of the game that we don't like.
To be exact, there are 37 of them. Maybe you agree with them, and maybe you don't. Either way, you should give them a read, and maybe you'll discover that you hate Halo 3 just a little bit, too.
1. The story
After years of waiting and hours of gameplay, what have we learned? The Covenant is bad, Master Chief is awesome and Bungie needs to write better scripts. Here's our vastly improved version: Sarge says, "Those aliens are assholes! Go kill them, Chief," and then nobody says anything else for the next six hours.
2. In online matches, you can't choose which maps to play
You can pick your gametype, armor color and species, but the maps are always random. This is simply unpatriotic.
3. The grenades
Grenades have been powered down to accommodate noobs and there are only two new kinds: a spiky version of the plasma grenades that don't glow and the flesh-meltingly awesome incendiary grenades that you don't ever get to use.

298w ago - First off, remember this story is strictly in the realm of rumors and loose talk. But with the latest Bungie news update came a hint that we would see more classic remakes coming soon.
And a further hint was given when a poster on Bungie.net posted a scan of a magazine cover and promptly had his post deleted. Whether or not the above concept art is actually that for a Lockout-remake map in Halo 3 isn't clear, and this is in no way a confirmation of anything.
Having a version of Sidewinder in the next update, it seems unlikely that there would be a second remake in the upcoming Legendary pack. However, xbox.com is listing the third Legendary map as a returning classic that is a small Slayer map, so this rumor may not be too far out-there.
As for the supposed concept shot, it appears to be of a similar structure to the infamous grav lift platform of Lockout. Whether you liked the map or not, there does seem to be a certain amount of correlation between all this.
