118w ago - Today SCEE's Roland Fauster has shared some hands-on details from ID Software spotlighting Rage for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: When Rage is released this October, it will be the end of a long journey for the game. It has been four years since ID Software first announced their large demo project for their new proprietary ID Tech 5 Engine. Nevertheless, the popularity of the project has never waned.
Two weeks ago at Gamescom, we were finally able to try the game out ourselves at the Bethesda stand and gain our own impression of the exciting FPS/Racing/RPG crossover.
Our gaming session begins right at the start of the game. As one of the few survivors of a meteorite strike, we are fighting our way on foot and in exhilarating dune buggies through an inhospitable world, when we are suddenly attacked by a mutant, and quickly believe we are in a realm of the dead, when a nice, human-looking inhabitant saves us at the last moment. Very friendly! Naturally, we feel indebted and are prepared to carry out some assignments for him.
This means getting rid of deformed mutants from certain buildings, and we do this in classic shoot'em up gameplay fashion, which is really enjoyable, but Rage would only be half as fun if you didn't...

171w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited Content Producer Katy Macdonald has gone behind the scenes today with SingStar Dance for PS3.
To quote: In a studio in South London, professional dancers, choreographers, principal designers, members of the SingStar team and myself gathered for something pretty special.
This was the shoot for the upcoming SingStar Dance game, due for release later this year. The team were recording footage of the dancers that will be presented in-game for users to follow when playing.
Fully rehearsed and in costume, the dancers were ready to begin.
For me, watching anyone perform a well thought out dance routine is pretty impressive, and two people simultaneously performing a very long and difficult routine in perfect time is something that takes a lot of effort, practice and skill.
I spoke to choreographer Shaun Niles about how he creates a dance routine for SingStar Dance.
"It's very hard! I have to pretend to hold the PlayStation Move motion controller myself when I work out routines to see what can be done with it. Some movements can be quite difficult, such as a flick of the wrist, and can feel a bit weird with the controller in your hand at first. Its hard work but I have choreographed a few routines for...
176w ago - Ubisoft Sr. Brand Manager Michael Micholic has announced today that the soundtrack to Scott Pilgrim vs The World is going old school on PSN.
To quote: Once we decided to go for the old school, side scrolling, beat 'em up style with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Video Game, we wanted to go all in! We brought in pixel artist extraordinaire Paul Robertson.
The next step was creating an amazing soundtrack. We immediately thought of Brooklyn chiptune rockers, Anamanaguchi. They wowed us (and 5,000 others) at PAX and really captured the sound we wanted for the game.
Here, the guys share their favorite songs from the game.
Ary Warnaar - "Twin Dragons"
I really enjoyed how the Twin Dragons cue came into existence. It was very unexpected. A couple months ago we were playing a show here in Brooklyn with Ok, Go. I was hanging out backstage with one of my good friends Damon who also happens to be one of the most talented chip artists I know (he goes by Starscream with his drummer George).
We were kinda bored and decided to start a collaboration italo-disco song on Game Boy. He started with an awesome bass line and...
