95w ago - Sony Product Marketing Manager Wilson Cheng has revealed three reasons today why fans should try PS Vita / PS3 cross-play content below!
To quote: The day is approaching for you to finally get your hands on PlayStation Vita!
For some of you, that day is already here with the delivery of the First Edition Bundle. As we've discussed in several previous Blog posts, the connection between PS Vita and PS3 is one of the most compelling features that sets gaming on PS Vita apart.
Because we want all of you early PS Vita owners to check out the cross-platform gameplay experience, we're offering content on both platforms for one promotional price with two launch titles, Hustle Kings and WipEout 2048. Our friends at Capcom are also offering shared content for no additional cost with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
Here's how it works:
• If you purchase Hustle Kings for PS Vita, you will get Hustle Kings on PS3 for free. If you already own Hustle Kings on PS3, you'll be able to download the PS Vita version for free.
• If you purchase WipEout 2048, you will be able to download WipEout 2048's DLC packs, WipEout HD and HD Fury for free when they launch on PS Vita later this spring (if you already own the PS3 versions)
101w ago - Over the weekend PlayStation Vita developer Virtuous Flame has made available OpenCMA, an open-source homebrew application that prevents the PS Vita Content Manager from connecting to the Internet to bypass online and the latest OFW checks.
To quote: A few days ago I posted my concerns about the “Content Manager” tool, a tool that is compulsory to install and use if you want to copy files from and to your vita. Some people said I was paranoid (see my answer to that at the end of the article), and others shared my concerns and started digging. Interestingly enough, that article gathered almost as much attention as my much more spectacular (in my opinion) video of a Megadrive emulator running on the vita.
Some sites took my words out of context and said that I had proof Sony is spying on us when we copy files. This is not true, I don’t have any proof, just lots of concerns. Because of that I decided to call Sony’s customer service in order to get more information. Read along.
First of all, a piece of relatively good news: some users on French site psvitagen mentioned that it is possible to copy Movies...
104w ago - Update: Sony has now released PS Vita 1.51 Firmware Update (JPN), and although no official changelog is available according to PlayStation Japan the update fixes an issue with Dynasty Warriors Next that prevented players from progressing further.
With the Japanese release of PlayStation Vita slated for tomorrow, Sony has now released a PS Vita 1.50 Firmware update which allows for PSN feature access including the PlayStation Store alongside a Content Manager Assistant application for updating via PC.
108w ago - THQ Global Communications Manager Jon Miller has announced today news of additional PS3 content coming for Saints Row: The Third on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: At long last, THQ and our friends at PlayStation are proud to unveil additional content for Saints Row: The Third owners on PS3.
For all players that purchase Saints Row: The Third on PlayStation 3 and redeem their online pass codes within the next 90 days, they will receive a digital copy of Saints Row 2 (a $19.99 value)... absolutely free!
Go back to a simpler time, when the Saints were vying for control of Stilwater, before they were global icons, a household name, and a criminal empire. Before Professor Genki and the Syndicate, there were the Westside Rollers and the Brotherhood.
Enjoy classic Saints Row activities like Septic Avenger, where you spray new homes with sewage in order to devalue property. And of course, enjoy a number of DLC packs brought to you by Volition's favorite Saints Row 2 producer, Tera Patrick.
Saints Row 2 will be available for free starting early next week for all players who redeem their online pass in each new...
